Being in the crowd there definitely wasn't a feeling of "being denied" the turn. MJF and Cole were the most over thing on the show (going by reactions and people wearing merch in the venue). In my section especially there were tons of "he's your friend" chants whenever a turn was teased so I don't think people are ready for this pairing to end yet.

Nice storytelling, had a few botches, but they recovered from them and that curb stomp to Toni Storm was one of the cooler spots of the night. @@georgecase5908 explaining a joke always robs some of the humour... But by adding "including Welsh" at the end like that, it implies that the native tongue of Wales (Cymraeg) is very fringe. Something you wouldn't normally expect anyone to speak or understand, even out in deep space where Red Dwarf is primarily set Worth mentioning too that the showrunners were English, so there were often jokes that took digs at their European neighbors. Hearing "including Steam" in this video had the same energy to me, like Brian was jovially poking fun at Steam for being a fringe platform that only a few people know about.

Went in person and it was one hell of an experience. It’s the first time I’ve been to a show where nobody pointed out botches, the crowd was just on fire all night, no idea how it sounded to the viewers. My one gripe was that Stadium Stampede is so hard to watch when in person, doesn’t help I didn’t have a full view of the stage either! The Rock is doing movies/TV shows (though not currently due to the Hollywood writers strike), promotional work for his Zoa energy drink/Under Armour & running the XFL. He doesn't have the time to train properly for a Wrestlemania caliber match & do promotion for that no matter how much WWE would pay him to do it. WWE needs to take the belt off of Roman by any means necessary ASAP (even if it means losing the belt in a "Montreal Screwjob" type finish & Roman leaving the company) & get out of what you mentioned: a holding pattern of Roman not defending the title & the constant betrayals.

Honestly, I think MJF and Adam Cole have done an amazing job subverting expectations. This started off as a “can they coexist” storyline, and they surprised everyone by saying, “yes, they can coexist”. MJF and Adam Cole were planning to turn on each other, but they stopped when they started being friends. MJF became kind of a face as a result because he found a friend. He learned to be vulnerable. He learned to trust people, and he wants to be “our scumbag”. Honestly, turning Adam Cole heel would have torn down everything they’ve built up. MJF would just go back to being heel because in his mind, he was right. He shouldn’t trust people. Everyone’s going to betray him. By keeping these two friends, you’re telling a story of two bad guys bringing out the good guy in each other, and in my opinion, it’s beautiful. I honestly nearly cried during the closing angle, it was incredible.

This was such a solid show. Watching it live in the stadium, nothing really blew me away at the time, admittedly, in terms of shock moments. But the more I think about it the more I love what I saw. The preshow was probably the strongest I've seen at a wrestling show; and the Punk-Joe opener really got me in the mood for what followed. There were a few botches throughout, sure, but nothing that left me hating anything. The main event, especially, was a great moment to witness. I'm really glad MJF and Cole went to the wire, teasing us with various moments that it could all end in a tragic fallout. But the triumph, at the end of the day, was friendship above anything else and that was a beautiful way to end the show. Everyone went home happy. I'm so glad I got to Wembley to see this.

I think the betrayal teases will go on the back burner for a while. That was the hook leading to this match and we will have the ROH tag champ story in September. The long play I want is for this friendship to last until Hanukkah where MJF will gift Cole MJF/Cole III. Let me give a quick check on the calendar… the last day of Hanukkah is a Saturday so that can happen live on Collision. Of course, before that MJF needs to spend thanksgiving with Cole and Baker. And before that MJF needs to reveal that he’s never been trick or treating so they can terrorize some kids.

I agree Punk & Joe is my MOTN. I love that a lot of these felt like NJPW matches. Kick outs of the finishers and then going right back to the finisher again. Happened in both the Ospreay/Jericho match and the Acclaimed/House of Black match. Such logical wrestling! Sometimes its just that simple….. my only SMALL nitpick is that they ran too many “kick out at 1” shock false finishes. There were about 3 or 4 of them on the card. Law of Diminishing Returns for sure with that spot.

I usually don't have the energy for a big show like this. No matter how much I look forward to the main event, by the time it happens I'm too fatigued to get into it. Not this time, I was invested for all four hours, even if I was slightly distracted by seeing someone I know from elsewhere in the KZbin-sphere in the crowd. I'm not surprised they were there, but damn, they bought good tickets! It's nice to experience a good double-take like that. It doesn't happen as often as TV makes you believe...

The betrayal thing was so obvious so imo i thought it was a breath of fresh air that they decided to NOT do the obvious thing. This was one of my favorite wrestling shows of the entire year so far. Every match either exceeded my expectations, or was just as amazing as I expected it to be. The only negative I have is the Women's match. It felt rushed at times, the Outcast breakup was incredibly forced and contrived, and Saraya's face turn was undeserved, especially considering she still cheated to basically steal the belt from Shida. I said it a few weeks ago, this match should have been Toni Storm defended against Shida in a singles match. That had an actual story that they could have built to make an amazing moment

Full agree with the women’s match. Giving Shida the belt was just to shut her and all us fans up lmfao, Britt being in the match added absolutely nothing despite that she has been feuding with Saraya for MONTHS, and yes the Toni shit was so forced especially when Saraya’s whole trash ass family got the spotlight the whole fucking match. Its honestly disgusting lol.
