yeah. make the game play differently based on house chosen. Plus, change dialogue so NPCs don't say exact same thing no matter the selection the student makes.

From I read "According to Insider Gaming, Warner Bros. Games is developing a Hogwarts Legacy Definitive Edition that will feature 10-15 hours of new content including an additional story quest, side missions, costumes, and more. It will reportedly also be available as DLC for gamers who already purchased Hogwarts Legacy."

@@Ajar37 What they also have is better dialogue choices and have NPCs not say the same thing based on what the student says. For example, doesn't matter if your Ravenclaw student says either they're happy to be here or nervous for classes, they get told "There's no reason to be nervous." NPCs should say different things whatever the student says, not the exact same thing.

I do think this could possibly be an update to get the game ready for the rumoured DLC/Definitive Edition. The game still has high player numbers nearly 2 years later, so clearly a lot of people still love it!

Two wishes I want to see: 1. More customisation options; more faces, hairstyles, voices, personality, colour options for glasses. 2. Get rid of randomised items. Finding a specific outfit for my student should never be a tedious chore. Have the bedroom wardrobe have all the bits and pieces of the uniform so can mix and match what we want. Have other clothing stores for everything else and stores all clothing.

I feel ray tracing has gone too far and moved past realistic reflections, it's starting to look like the surfaces are a mirror, a more detailed reflection then you would actually see irl

Agree! Like the wooden floors SHOULDN'T be so shiny.. Reason for that is that after years of wear and tear it wouldn't make sense for them to look shiny and new.

I’ve never quite grasped the excitement over ray tracing, to be honest. It seems silly to have all these wet floors and surfaces in places where it doesn’t even make sense for them to be wet or reflective, especially when there’s no water source. The shots in the library and the Hogwarts hallway around 1:11 looked overly wet, shiny and riddikulus.

Yeah it’s a bit like HDR for me. Some games implement it beautifully. Others…not so much.

Each time I see ray tracing options in games, it reminds me of those graphics mods for GTA 5 with overly wet roads, haha. While ray tracing does look fantastic where there are natural reflection sources, in other areas, it feels like someone went overboard cleaning the floor, making it look unnaturally wet and shiny, which doesn’t really fit and comes off as unnatural.

It's great knowing they are still working in this game, but Ray Tracing for me is weird sometimes. You never are going to have those detail reflexions in some materials like old wood floor, stone unless they wet with water. And my problem with reflexions with Raytraicing is that too much things looks wet for me.

Ray Reconstruction is a bit technical, and I’m not sure if I can explain it perfectly (or even, correctly). However, it’s essentially an AI solution to address the challenges of Ray Tracing. Ray Tracing calculates the path of light rays as they bounce off surfaces, considering effects like shadows, reflections, refractions, lighting, and their interactions with objects in a scene. However, its inherently complex nature limits the technology. The graphics card must calculate the rays per pixel (which are limited), the number of ray bounces (also limited), among others. Then it attempts to "blend" all this information. What you see at 5:49 is Ray Tracing introducing "noise" to the image due to these limitations, which is especially noticeable when there is movement in the scene.

I found this game by accident on Sale on playstation store jan. 17’th. For a nice 20€ pricetag.. with all the addons. Dual deal (PS4 & PS5) And i rounded the storymode last night. And only 40% of game is explored. Stunning game. And what a difference between ps4 and ps5. Wowsa…

Unless new actual content sounds pointless -- why would i replay for prettier rock formations -- especially with my GTX970..... dont understand Why theyd even Bother .. UNLESS trying out for new content, dlc ... or sequel using same areas though? ... seen so much of hogwarts looking for stuff ... i really want another school.

5:50 Maybe I am wrong, but the OP said that he runs the game with DLSS 4. Previously, there would be cases if you turned on DLSS with Ray Tracing something like this would happen. Flickering etc. Now with new and enhanced DLSS 4 these problems disappear. I am positively suprised that there is such an update coming! I've played Hogwarts Legacy on my 2015 laptop (GTX 960M, i7-6700HQ), on low-medium settings in an average of 24fps. Now, it's not even worth it to launch the game, because I have to wait like 20 minutes for the game to even load in to the main menu and to the actual game (I moved the game from an SSD to an HDD, because it filled up my 240GB SSD to the max), and then play in 24fps. Fortunately, I am finally getting a new PC in April with RTX 5080, Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 32GB DDR5 and 2TB SSD. I couldn't wait to replay the game either way, and now with the update there's more to experience with the new graphics? Count me in! Couldn't be more excited!

Excited for the update for HL. The 5090 is running at 400 fps with the upscaling and dlss 4 multi frame gen tech (“fake” frames). Good enough for a single player game since latency doesn’t matter much. Crossing my fingers for the supposed directors cut.

I think you overestimate the effort it takes on Avalanche's side. This is all tech-upgrades on the side of NVidia. The effort on the studio side would be to update some DLL's, expose some of those settings in the menu, and tweak how strong they want to apply it. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a small team of about 5 people working on it for a week and then call it done. I am going to assume that for the studio riding the NVidia new-gadgets-hype-train is mostly just cheap PR. And I am not going to read to much else into this at all; (even though I want it to be so). And while the reflections ara nice and sharp; it's just not how wood looks. It's like walking on a mirror. Impressive tech for sure; but I think it's a poor fit for the game the way it's shown in those screenshots.

Idk what ray reconstruction is, but floors don’t need to be so shiny that it confuses your perspective, an old castle doesn’t need mirror floors that are so shiny like that. The ones on the left look more realistic to me. Consider how old the castle is, come on.

DLSS 4 enhancements are are coming out on January 30 to 75 games including Hogwarts Legacy. It doesn't have to have anything to do with the rumoured Director's Cut. It's going to make the game more visually appealing for many PC gamers especially the ones with up-to-date hardware so it's a selling point.

What about adding in other houses as for traits , so we can be able to get into those other houses ever so easily even if we are from a different house. And also adding in for a Wand Making Classes so we can be able to , to add in other cores into our own wands but really making our wands to the way like how we want it to be. And allowing us to make our own magic and also being as crafters. And having our own gardens to grow our stuff.

Honestly, I'm not sure if there will be any new updates with new content. I want them, but I don't think they will. Hogwarts Legacy was WG's most successful game in recent years, amidst so many failures. It was to be expected that they would want to mine this gold mine more, with some DLCs and special editions. But they have done practically nothing with the game since it was released. I want new content. New options in the Character Creator, exclusive house missions (several side missions, not one main mission with slight changes), new spells, etc. But unfortunately I don't think we will have anything really remarkable.
