@SG-Gody they most definitely smile, the same way they cry. It never seizes to amaze me how humans can see animals doing something & swear that's not what's happening. I'll take it a step further & give them something to really laugh about 😉 Pigs have the same emotions & you can clearly see them smiling & even crying. They'll have trails from the tears coming from their eyes. Elephants & pigs are such soulful, emotional, magnificent beast❤
@SG-Gody5 ай бұрын
@@ReRe-kr1ht Yes, you’re so right about the pigs. Yes I have seen them do that too. When I was younger and growing up on the farm I brought up some piglets and they used to follow me around like puppy dogs and used to walk the boundaries of this 732 acre farm with the sheep dog the two pig and the cat. The two pigs even used to come swimming in the dam with me. They definitely smiled, cried and I know they used to laugh when they come up behind me and throw me off my feet They could also sit and fetch and do almost any thing a dog could do. ❤️ from Western Australia

@Omar-if3vd4 жыл бұрын
@@RAVANREBORN true but humans are the best at running for long time. So the goal would be to be as fast as possible so that catching me would take longer time and they would be fatigued by then.

They do, we are to them, what dogs are to us(this is somewhat speculation though, as we cant directly ask them), they also have a much higher emotional intelligence than us and better long term memory too.

@@groyper1988 @Cody Berman There is obviously no comparative study, because thats almost impossible to do, however you can read about their emotional and social intelligence here: [ s3.amazonaws.com/academia.edu.documents/36228306/06_0986_joshi_india_ny0301.pdf?response-content-disposition=inline%3B%20filename%3DHow_Social_are_Asian_Elephants_Elephas_m.pdf&X-Amz-Algorithm=AWS4-HMAC-SHA256&X-Amz-Credential=AKIAIWOWYYGZ2Y53UL3A%2F20191218%2Fus-east-1%2Fs3%2Faws4_request&X-Amz-Date=20191218T172039Z&X-Amz-Expires=3600&X-Amz-SignedHeaders=host&X-Amz-Signature=8701703ed77e50d9807dfddf0b9b919b3de9a40795e48a2b85a01aef3d8ac2ef ] and here: [ doi.org/10.7717/peerj.278 ], [ doi.org/10.7717/peerj.278 ], [ etd.library.emory.edu/concern/etds/q524jp00q?locale=en ] Considering how quick and suttle changes they notice in other individuals and even in humans and how we humans often have a hard time picking up suttle emotions correctly, i claim their capability to be greater than ours(although this might be highly dependend on the sozio-culture in humans). One interesting aspect is, that they keep their young between their legs in case of danger or uncertainty, considering their multi ton adult bodys could easily kill an newborn elephant by accident, the evolutionary pressure, to be incredibly aware of smaller elephants in your surrounding, is exceptionaly high, which would explain why they are so attentive, as long as you don´t harm or threaten them.
