I'm his age and it's weird to age, I mean your older years, it's hard not to feel insignificant, time rolls on and the changes in society you notice more, now that I'm old I can see how cranky old people can become, the melancholy turns a bit jaded, it's a natural process but I find it awkward but I'll keep trying to be kind and die in peace, good luck.

I find your comment to be so insightful. I'm a young adult who constantly wonders about the inner workings of the older generation's mind. I want to know how boomers/ gen x who used to be the "cool rebels" became what they are today. But reading your comment provides some much needed insight there, so I thank you for sharing. It must be hard to walk around a seemingly alien world that only has whispers of the society you grew up in. I commend you for not only being self aware enough to recognize this, but wise enough to realize it's inevitable to feel like a "grumpy old person" and you just have to work through it. I was a post 9-11 baby, I can't imagine what it must've been like going through so many life changing events as a young person, and now that you're older you have the internet and the complicated mess that comes with it. I don't remember a world without computers and calculators in my pocket and KZbin. You do, though. You had to adapt to this lifestyle that I was born into. And someday, when I'm (hopefully) old and grey, my grandkids will be doing something that I just don't understand and I'm going to say the exact same thing you said. It's a little sad, but also beautiful in a way.

@@watermelonmoonshinee That was really well thought-out and articulated. As another young adult, I sometimes find myself falling into the hubris of thinking I'd be the one to adapt to the changes that happen during my lifetime. I think I'll end up putting in a decent effort, but the reality is more likely that it'll get more and more difficult not only as the changes accumulate but as I inevitably start to lose neuroplasticity someday. This struggle is probably pretty universal, and we should always remember to reserve some patience and compassion for people who are trying their best.

Jesus you're a sweet decent person with significant self awareness. As someone who's getting older but probably a decade or so off from you if I could guess, I wish you the best my friend. There's truly worthless insignificant wastes of life and downright demons in this world. Find your peace and stay away from the vortex of chaos that this world is becoming. It's not you, it's them, truly. God bless my friend.

@@lyndasmith3657 He did alright. But alot was lost in translation. The Swedish version is about politics, class struggle and the shift from industrial Sweden to Instagram Sweden. I understand the man - and see that he goes too far. Having become ‘an old guy’, I find it can be fun to play curmudgeon. Those punksters skateboarding on the town hall steps,… “Well, where are your knee pads and steel-toed shoes?” They had their phone/cameras ready for me every time. One big difference - as a loner, I would take that cat in immediately. I must own this film.

2 yards equals 6 feet, and the price is $0.99 a yard, or 3 feet. That makes $1.98 for 2 yards. It would have been easy enough to ring up a manual price for the rope by dividing 1.98 by 6 and multiplying that answer by 5 to come up with the actual price of $1.65. They have calculators for a reason.

@Avis_Victoriae
@Avis_Victoriae Жыл бұрын
@Tao Liu Precisely. Don't blame me. it's not my logic. It is literally how hardware and crafts stores work in the US. They'd look at me funny, but if I walked into my local crafts store, I could buy an 1/8" length of paracord and a 1/2" of silk from a whole bolt if I so choose. Cash registers have the prices of each item precalculated, and all the cashier has to do is measure the 1/8 inch piece of paracord I wanted and punch the measurement into the register. The register would do the rest for them.

Why did the store overcharge him? Who is wrong in this scenario?
@lupinsvinyls
@lupinsvinyls 9 ай бұрын
He wanted to buy 5 feet of rope. The casheir said we dont sell by the foot but its .99 cents a yard or 3 feet. Since he got more than 1 yard he was wrung up for 2 but we had 1ft less than 2. So otto was arguing it should be .33 cents less. Because he shouldnt have to pay for a ft he didnt buy. If the store sells it by the yard you could argue that the store is right. You cant get a fountain drink cup at a store and fill it up and only pay for half. It dont work like that. The cashier was saying theres not a way for him to ring it up by the foot. But theres usually a way to manually overide prices but sometimes a manager has to do that. Its wrong hes paying for something he didnt get but thats how its sold. If the casheir couldnt override it id say the store is in the right. I can see an argument for both sides. So what do you think?
