Just to clarify the blood loss thing He mentions the blood loss when transforming when talking to Makima after the incident from episode 1 (and proceeds to faint) The part with the porn mags, he mentions that when he uses the chainsaws it causes blood to splatter everywhere (up to interpretation if he means the target's or his own blood I guess)

Denji is completely unsocialized and naive. A pretty girl hugs him (which he has wanted all his life), gives him her coat and promises him breakfast. Instantly, he thinks he’s “in love”. She claims she likes him but at the same time says she will kill him if he doesn’t cooperate, referring to him as a dog. It’s very difficult therefore to know if she is just using his ‘simping’ or she feels anything towards him.

Tsundere are way more complex than Denji. Denji is just brutally honest, Tsundere types act tough on the outside but are soft on the inside. Denji is just incredibly naive.

When you think about it, Denji would have done the same shit for Pochita if it happened (when he didn't have his powers) Power seems to be too weak for the bat dude or knows he'd squish meowy before she can get him. So she just did what was asked Remember she is the "Blood devil" as Makima said. She can manipulate blood into a giant strong hammer which is great. But blood is not something very feared. Aside from hemophobia (phobia of blood), when you see blood, you're not afraid of the blood itself, but rather of the reason its there.

Probably the latter. Nothing about Power's abilities seem to increase her speed. And she's definitely not strong enough to one-shot it, even if it's injured. So even if she does out speed the Bat Devil, it still means the cat dies.

@@Birthday888 Rather, she could likely drop it if she could jump it unaware (like she did the sea slug Devil), but it does have Meowy on its body and has shacked up in a lair. Anything Power could do would only put Meowy in danger. Even leading Denji in willingly.

Funny you mentioned the obsession with chests. The word they use in Japanese for “boobs” is “mune “ which can also mean “chest”. Opening song lyrics make an allusion to this too.

Power betrayed a stranger for a comrade, which (on a _much_ smaller scale) Denji did with catching that car and then throwing it at the Bat. Just the second one had a lot less lies involved, and worked out a bit better. Also, considering Denji’s ‘price’ (being willing to help get Meowy back for simply copping a feel), any presumption he would actually be able to back up combat claims go out the window. Between that _and_ not having seen him Devil out before, “Oh this is just a sacrifice to be used, no way this goes well if we try to fight together.”

@@alecLogan I just feel like you are trying to rationalize an irrational fiend's motivations. The "logic" of her story tracks, but her character motivations are all messed up. If she only cared about that cat, than why is she living with the humans? I understand that she probably had a change of "heart" or whatever fiends have when Denji saves her. But her character is really confusing. Does she see all life as valuable as Meowey now? Or does she just like her new squad? Or does she only like Meowey? The only reason the humans put up with her is because they are short staffed and need whatever fodder they can throw at the devil problem. As the show goes on I have no issue with Power, I think she is a cool character and is slowly learning to live with humans. But she brutally betrayed Denji, and if that was me instead I would probably kill or imprison her after. I wouldn't care if it was "personal" or not. She sees humans as tools and food, that is not someone I would want on my team. She constantly threatens Denji's life even after he saves her, that would be really stressful to have on a team of devil hunters.

Huh - if other devils and fiends fear the chainsaw devil, will that make Denji more powerful? It happened with this episode and the first episode - but they're dead, so will the fear go away or will him taking out other fiends and devils spread fear associated with his name? ...hmmm, I guess not, as it's supposed to be human - then will something like admiration have an effect on Denji? 🤔 Fun to think about. Power and the Bat demon both assumed Kenji was a normal human. That's why she betrayed him, and tried to hand him over to the bat, and also why he couldn't believe how bad his blood tasted. It tastes bad because he's a fiend now and his blood is half devil, which other demons hate the taste of. She had a deal to hand over a human for the cat, thus why she tried to hand him over as a human.
