a Map Editor would SAVE Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 NEEDS a Map Editor. The custom game workshop is great but it kinda sucks without a map editor.

as a counter-strike mapper, I would absolutely love a mapping editor for Overwatch. And I think if done, it would be the healthiest update the game ever received. A year or two ago, they did a live stream of them blockout out a new map, based on twitch chat feedback. It was super out of character, totally unexpected, but seriously amazing. Pushing a mapping editor out to the public is a huge task for any game company, but god damn would it be incredible

With this we can also improve the workshop because you can't really do anything extreme or something really cool because it crashes alot. You can only use the effects the game gives you and its not even all the effects in the game.

Because of OW1 was 35$ as far as i remember it had to be good in all ways. Add new good maps, new heroes, new game modes for ivents and skins. Now what's the point of making arcade mode extremely replayable when it won't being any money and will be deleted from the game? If skins are the only thing current monetization can give us, thats bad because other parts of the game will suffer. I can't be 100% sure about this, but. Todays Blizzard would never bring workshop, just because it wouldn't make money :)

A forge mode would go so hard, it kept Halo alive. Giving power to the players is just giving them free labor anyway. Just not sure how well their engine can hold something like that or how long it would take to build. So it's not something I'll ever expect, but it's something I've already thought about.

it used to work with older games like warcraft 3. I'm not a fan of dota or league of legends but they essentially came from warcraft 3 players

A very cool and needed idea. Idk if overwatch will ever get back to how popular it was years ago. It’s a shame. This is definitely a step into the right direction with the addition of 6v6 and other OG content
