I just found you guys on You Tube and have binged watched all the episodes from the start of this trip, yes every minute of the sea passages. I'm 64 now and when I was 26yrs old I sailed across the Sth Pacific in my own 38ft sailboat from New Zealand to USA. This has brought back so many wonderful memories of catching mahi mahi, flying fish hitting me in the head, long periods of boredom, sail changes, tiredness, visiting remote islands, gazing at the huge night sky and lots of self reflection. I am about to go full circle and purchase another sail boat after almost 40yrs of not sailing. Whether I will go offshore again I'm not sure however your videos have stirred something that has been buried away for many years. My wife doesn't get it but I think a true sailor understands the call of the sea. Thank you again.

Hi there :) thank you so much for joining us out here! Happy to hear that we have sparked the sailor in you! Wow, that is incredible that you sailed from NZ to the US! That must have been tough! Did you go up to Hawaii?
@mikesmillie1389 Жыл бұрын
I sailed with a friend although we made it hard on ourselves, 2 days out our self steering broke so we had to take turns on watch at the helm from that point on. In those days there was no such thing as GPS so we navigated with a sextant. Ist stop Tonga, then Samoa, Fanning Island and stopped in Hawaii for 6 weeks then on to San Diego where I ended up living for a couple of years. I am going to write down my memoirs for my grandchildren and the first book will be about this adventure. Your videos are so clear and well edited. I am now going back to the beginning and watching from when you first purchased your boat. Enjoy your one life @SailingOneLife .

You are actually the first to have shown this. That was really cute when the man patted the big pig of his on the side and the pig lay down to get rubbed. Those dogs were trained very well. And at first when I saw the man showing you the woodwork, he did make those clubs. I thought for sure he was going to try to sale you one or something. I was pleasantly surprised no as that was for his personal use. Overall great educational video thanks

Where do you get refills for your soda stream. I’ve been in the islands for 2 months and can’t find co2

Hey there! We left Mexico with six canisters so we didn't need to refill during our time in FP. But we've heard many people use the dry ice method. If your in the Marquesas, chat with Kevin from yacht services. He may be able to hook you up with dry ice.
