Hey you guys, I lived in Hawaii for a while and I learned something that might help you with your bread problems. Instant pancake mix. It's bread and alls you have to do is mix water with the Instant mix. And you cook ot in a frying pan so you don't waste alot of gas to heat the stove. I know it doesn't sound right but just disregard the pancake word. It works in a pinch.😊Oh yeah, I know I said this before but I'm gonna say it again. I love your dodger with all that isonglass and very little seems.

Interesting you mention this. I've thought about using instant pancake mix before. The word pancake always gets in the way though! I'll give it a go sometime.

What a great episode guys! Awesome hike to the waterfall! You are so very fortunate. I do not know if I could ever convince my wife to circumnavigate but perhaps we could rent a boat there one day to sail around. The atolls are nuts, but these interactions with locals and the off the beaten path adventures are spectacular. Also- once you get good with a stick shift, those are exactly the type of roads that it works best with, both for fun and control. Finally, Just ordered 3 more Epic water filters for Christmas trip to the DR with family. Forgot to use the discount code on this purchase, but did when I got my One Life bottle. Great quality!

Hey Thomas! When we first started this journey, crossing the Pacific was just a dream. I (Brooke), personally never thought I'd be up to the task. But little by little my love for sailing along with my sailing abilities grew. When Gary and I discussed crossing the Pacific last year, he told me if I didn't feel comfortable he would get a crew member and I could fly there....my response: Oh, hell no! If One Life is sailing across an ocean, I am too! So I guess what I'm saying is, your wife just may surprise you! Thank you so much for supporting our journey! We hope you love your bottles and we look forward to seeing some pics of you guys using them on your trip! If we don't chat before then, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Unreal drone stuff! The first people to discover and live in Hawaii were from marquesas and the stonework is found on Kauai and outer islands. (The flat-surface stone walls and round face figurines.). Looking at that jungle trek, reminded me there are no snakes at all or poisonous insects in French Polynesia (or Hawaii) except centipedes. So really kind to hike in like that.). Watching you refuel reminded me of when you got propane refilled in Bocas del Toros- 21 days? something like that? Aloha!
@SailingOneLife Жыл бұрын
Hey Joe! Ah cool, that is so interesting! Their stonework is amazing. Ha, yes nice to be able to hike through the brush and not worry about a deadly spider bite. And yup, took us 3 weeks in Bocas for our propane.....they are the record holder so far hahaha.

I have been following you for w while and really enjoy your channel. It looks like you have successfully developed the skills and determination to make cruising around the world work. I have been impressed, But I should note that most of the under developed world still use manual transmission extensively. They actually have a lot more utility in certain conditions, such as the steep roads y'all just drove thru. This should be a skill both of you should develop. Rent that red car again if you can to practice. Maybe there are videos online to help. It may be very important to you one day somewhere in your travels. But keep doing what you have been doing and stay safe!

why not just drive the boat to the gas station and use the dock pump to fuel up?
@SailingOneLife Жыл бұрын
Hey Ben, good question. The concrete dock by the gas station is pretty gnarly with the swell and tide. It's also reserved for the big commercial boats and we believe you have to arrange an appointment time to tie up. Mainly though, we didn't want our boat getting smashed around on the concrete dock.
