Creator of the trophy here, the pistons are in fact the suspension, it has 3 pistons per wheel each with different speed settings in order to create a progressive spring with way better damping than regular suspension. The suspension pieces are actually for suspension droop and are also responsible for terrain bumps and tiny changes in the terrain which they do an amazing job handling.

Diesel electric track inspection vehicle. See them a lot on the Sydney Trains network in Sydney, Australia. The livery is quite close to the original, very impressive!

Hey, it's Ben Bingo (creator of the dragster and the few other vehicles you mentioned) big thanks for featuring my stuff, I can also answer some of your questions. The 2 wheels on the unicycle were actually a trammel gear ratio (1:2), one of the best types you can make in scrap. On kein anderers vehicle, the speed selection works by moving the sensor plate relative to the crank position, so you can have more or less advanced timing. I would also love to see more piston engine stuff, you have done very good for the community by showcasing piston power, and if you ever want to learn about the crazy engines just give us a call! I also 100% think you should attempt the piston power challenge packs

I am not a member of the piston power gang, nor am I an engineer; but you seemed excited and challenged by the piston power challenge map, and as a fan of your content: that's what we wanna see. Your ratchet solution to the 1st challenge didn't use the intended trammel gear method, but you still succeeded in the challenge and that's what the challenges are for: creative solutions.

Creator of the piston power tractor here, glad you understood the variable speed control, but could have been cool to also show its reverse and its torque, as it has a lot of extra torque. It also has a gauge infront of the driver that shows you the selected speed. That engine layout can also offer insane speeds with a different setup, using a "variable stroke". Posted that aswell, but guess you didnt see it. Thanks for showcasing it either way.

6:51 It's like an RC slipper clutch. The piston on the right side pushes the wheel against the powered wheel, maybe preventing the engine from losing its momentum. It could also be used to raise the piston engine off the ground. This is just my thoughts.

The component kits on the powered wheel actually act as a 1:2 gear ratio with the mugs connected to the wheel that touches the ground. No friction funky stuff happening there

I think the creation at 6:50 uses an Archimedes trammel coupling. The inner wheel has a mug which slides in the grooves between the component kits, which allows the wheels to spin at the same speed while having misaligned axes. I'm not entirely sure what the purpose of this is, but I think that's how it works

the wheel uses Archimedes' Trammel so its a 1:4 (or 1:2 I forgot) speed increase/decrease depending on the say you spin it

Can you build some of those Tyco RC cars? The ones that has one that flips the front wheel base on the x axis, and the other one one of the sides on the y axis(or is it z axis) and can drive upside down.

unicycle use a 2.1:1 gear ratio with the 2 wheels, component kits are here because of the better hitbox and it makes it much much smoother than regular blocks.

Limited slip clutch on the Unicycle??? High-powered drag cars also use it for launching with insane amounts of power coming from the engine. If you put all that directly into the drive train, it'll break..
