@@darthfastball1150 Except centripetal means towards the center/center seeking. That would be the pseudo centrifugal force that arises from trying to find the equations of motion based on an accelerating frame of reference.

DarthFastball11 that “force” is actually called centrifugal force (you have the concept right about how it’s a phantom force), and it does in fact help with increasing friction. You don’t have to read the rest but I’ll explain how XQC is right but at the same time arguing so hard for the most unimportant, irrelevant, and insignificant effect in a car’s dynamics. When cars turn really hard, they start leaning to the side in the same direction of the centrifugal force. That “lean” puts more normal force on the outer wheels but also decreases normal force on the inner wheels (one exaggerated example is when those Indian guys drive their cars sideways on two wheels), so you can only turn and accelerate so hard before your car wants to flip over. Since the equation for friction is force * coefficient of friction, that means more force = more frictional force, and in this case more normal force on the outer wheels means more frictional force on those tires but also less on the inner wheels since they have less normal force. But when you take it to something as complicated as a car, the normal force on the outer wheels compared to the inner wheels could be greater, equal to, or less than the other. I don’t know what to say about this, as it depends on how the car is built and what surface it’s turning on. However, assuming that you do get more frictional force overall by accelerating during a turn, I would say that only when you’re going a specific set of speeds (0 km/h up to whatever speed tires begin to slip) you would have more friction before you’re too fast where your wheels begin sliding and not providing that *centripetal* frictional force (which means the car experiences less *centrifugal* “force” and leans less = less normal force = less friction). When I say that the wheels begin to slip, this means the car starts getting dragged outwards from the circle it was turning in (this means less centrifugal force), as in it’s literally sliding outwards from the center of the circle it’s turning around because the tires don’t have enough friction to stop it getting pulled out by the centrifugal force. For the most part though, in cases like these usually your wheels begin to slip before you can even accelerate to provide enough friction to counter the slip, unless the road is banked sharply. This completely invalidates the usefulness of accelerating during a turn for increased friction that XQC keeps arguing for, but it doesn’t mean he’s wrong. In a high speed race track where the roads are banked sharply as they turn, drivers can keep accelerating in a turn to increase friction, meaning they can go faster with less consequence. This lets drivers accelerate without having to worry about slipping outwards (Indy 500 for example), but we’re talking about driving any common car which he barely, if not hasn’t, ever driven. The thing XQC is talking about is so rare and irrelevant that it would only be important in a very specific scenario, but it still happens anyways, so he isn’t technically wrong -he’s just wrong about how prevalent he thinks this issue is without really understanding what he’s even arguing for. I’m also typing this drunk at 3:30 am before going to sleep, so I could be wrong about a few things but I just really wanted to say this.

i didnt realise the debates in the chat would go from car physics to the racial divide and police brutality in the us. to clarify, i dont think xqc is racist. he said "i point out shit no matter what side" to paraphrase. hes saying that ACAB is a bad acronym as it is a generalisation and thinks that it should be something more appropriate. it has a different meaning and xqc did misinterpret it although he is obviously not the most informed person on this subject. while ignorance isnt an excuse it is something to take into consideration to help us grasp the situation. i can understand his viewpoint. lets say there was a racist acronym that was BPCC meaning "black people commit crimes" but the true meaning behind it was that due to systemic racism and centuries of oppression, there are impoverished black communities that rely on crime and theft to survive resulting in high crime rates per 1000 in black communities compared to white or asian. i believe that is a fair comparison and while you can recognise the connection, it isnt obvious to someone uneducated on the subject. i support the BLM movement although i disagree with the idea that ACAB. have a nice day everyone and fuck racism

No he's right though, if you're racing you slow down before a turn and then halfway through the turn you accelerate, so you come out of the turn at high speed. But you have to turn from outside to in, cutting across the corner, to compensate for the centrifrugal force that will shift you car outwards as you accelerate and turn at the same time. Also never take advice from chat, they don't even know what a J turn is

It's true for long round bouts like on entering a highway like XQC said but not for normal roads, if you accelerate while turning on a normal road that's a good way to crash into someone. Xqc was accelerating while making sharp turns in the game and defending that, THAT is incorrect

i played this game a very long time ago and it was gud edit: piracy is not a theft corporation abuse and steal their own employees is cause old game copy protection is actually broken on modern systems and will refuse to run so fan patches and piracy makes them possible not speaking some games are not available to buy digitally and even harder physically that gonna have risks on its own like getting damaged or your pc rejecting it

@@NelsonMandela1999 I believe he was intending to refer to centrifugal force, which is essentially the power of making something spin and the force of the spin is the centripetal. Could be wrong though haven’t taken physics since college
