I find it so funny that Lucifer is so offended by being called cheap. In the diamond store Chloe is lying about them being engaged but Lucifer never actually tells a direct lie here, but he cannot bear anyone thinks he might be cheap lol

Lucifer threatening Jay was one of the more unsettling things in this show because no yelling, no physical violience, just a guaranteed fact. As we know Lucifer has lost his devil face since the beginning of the Season....but that little spark in his eyes is actually a very important sign. Maybe his devil face will come back!?

Also love that all the locks are still visible on Linda's door since she installed them after learning about Lucifer.

"They still use paper?" In a lot of jurisdictions, such as NYC for example, pawn brokers and second hand dealers are required to maintain a physical ledger of all of their transactions (in chronological order). Electronic records are not considered an acceptable substitute, since they are much more easily altered.

at the time, Fox was purchased by Disney, and Lucifer does't belong to the Marvel universe. I don't say this is the only reason, but money rules the world, and I read, that after this purchase, disney had the intention to move Fox programs mainly to sports. At that point, the show's distribution had been sold to various parts of the world, causing the number of fans to grow. In fact, Tom Ellis was at a fan convention in Italy when he was notified of the cancellation. It is for that reason (the huge global fanbase) and the repercussion of the cancellation on social media, that Netflix took the show and gave us 3 more seasons.

Anna, there may be a subtle theme of the effects of Original Sin. On one hand, Pierce/Cain is a sympathetic character who has been incredibly tormented. On the other, his sin may be 'contagious'. His protege seemed to be a good kid. What made him turn? Has this happened before? Is part of Cain's punishment not only that he will watch those be loves die - a not uncommon theme in fiction - but that he will watch them go bad. I think even Luci would be disturbed about that. As far as diamonds are concerned, only _artificial_ diamonds are etched. Least, last I checked.

I think Pierce got into Amenediel's head, so to try to make it look like they are not the same, he used the opposite phrase. In the bible after killing Abel, when god asks Cain about him, Cain responds "I don't know, I'm not my brother's keeper", so Amenediel says "after all, I'm my brother's keeper" And PIerce has a point. Amenediel tried to get his brother murdered.

Characters, like people, contain multitudes. Many facets. A person can be both charming, witty, and funny -- and also a dangerous killer. Most psychopaths, for instance, are incredibly charming. So don't get thrown off by "Pierce was charming and funny, so am I supposed to believe he's the same person as this evil Sinnerman?" Yes, they've said he is, take that at face value. He's just not one-dimensional. And that's by intention, not a lack of writing direction. They knew exactly where the season was going.
@chirkunovanatasha3 ай бұрын
Exactly! Everybody talks about how Pierce fooled Chloe later in the season, but people miss how he does the same to Lucifer earlier on. He did his research on them both. Pierce knew that Lucifer has a very one-track mind, he presented his deal as an opportunity to flip a bird to his Dad and quickly swept all the Sinnerman business under the rug. At this point Lucifer (and therefore the audience) thinks of him as Cain, not the Sinnerman and that is the point!

Well Fox are idiots. I don't know if you are aware of the back story to their handling of Firefly, which was incredible writing and performing, but was canceled before they even completed one season... but there was a change of programming execs, and the new ones hated the old ones, and deliberately tried to sabotage Firefly out of spite - airing the episodes out of order, on a friday night slot, the kiss of death, and then summarily canceling the show before the contract was up.... So I can imagine something not dissimilar might occur with Lucifer as well. Imagine the writers having a very strong sense of where the story goes, but suits tell them they need to stretch season 3 out, and put more filler in, before revealing the intended story... Show runners comply, but the suits really wanted them to make tangent episodes so they had a reason to cancel... that kind of sh*t does go on, especially at Fox...... They (Fox programming execs) only care about their own asses and their own agenda/power plays, not one wit for the audience or the shows... In fact the show runners/Tom Ellis cracks a joke about Fox programming execs in season 4 which is hilarious.... and an obvious dig at those butt holes.

Didn't notice along your reaction or outro, so worth mentioning. Did you recognize Maze's two dummies for slashing practice? She it still sore and soreness is addressed.
@celiafox3503 ай бұрын
You are not supposed to know what to make of Pierce. The writers didn't even allow Tom Welling to know where the story was going so he had to play it fairly emotionless at this stage- the confusion is deliberate. Is he funny, okay, evil, because he is the Sinnerman as lucifer said back in The Sin Bin, I think it was. I think it was clever and devious of the writers and kept us all guessing, theorising and trying to analyse. Lucifer treated Pierce, at this point as someone he can relate to also being part of the mythical/celestial back story. The writers knew exactly where the story was going as you will see but FOX TV asked for all the extra episodes which broke the season up somewhat and took us away from the main story. However, I liked all the so called filler episodes because they gave us insights into other characters and into the Lucifer back story too. Also 24 + 2 episodes of lucifer - what's not to like! Just a few more 'extra' episodes ( but I think they still move the story on) and then WHAM we are right back into the main story and what an emotional ride that is!

The public reason to why fox cancelled the series was that they were tired of the backlash they were getting from the religious community. Also, weird episodes that seem to clash with the rest of the season's tone and story tend to be due to network interference, specially the last one, considering how fan servicey it was

This season is a bit of a mess - way too long, should have kept focus on the sinnerman story and wrapped that up in a dozen episodes or so like we had before. One plot point that I thoroughly dislike they should have left out completely, but I can't say which bc of spoilers. You can guess.

The obsession nowadays with season-long story arcs is darn annoying. What if you don't like the story of the arc? You have to sit through it for a whole season. And then the show has the temerity to air a really fun, exciting episode and the Internet bemoans "filler episode.. filler episode... feed me... feed me now!". Story arcs of 2,3,4 eps with an overarching season long story-line are fine... I won't belabor my point or it will seem like a Comment-long-arc :-)
