I've always loved his playing. Shrapnel skills really influenced me when I was just starting on guitar. But it's his voice and songwriting that really kick it over the top for me now. Incredibly soulful musician and that voice...omg!

That’s the Most we can give-Our SOUL in all aspects of life. Never know when will be the last time. From experience… when I kissed my husband on the forehead and said I love you as he was being taken to the hospital (Cancer) that it would be the last. He passed at the hospital. That was simply the best album poison ever has made. I can't believe so many people don't know that Richie sings, let alone how amazing he sounds. I still have that shrapnel ??? Blues cd around somewhere that I picked up at the guitar store way back when. Richie played on one track and sang on another. Sounded amazing, and I've loved your stuff ever since. Freese is hung up on "who" he knows, and likes to name drop constantly. A real sign of insecurity.

Was a big poison fan until Richie joined, then i became huge Richie Kotzen fan. He transformed the band no doubt. Met him a couple of times since on his rare visits to Scotland and the man is a true gentleman and a musical inspiration. Hope to see you again sooner rather than later mr K.

I know this is a bit late but only just seen the video. After reading some comments on here I wondered 'Who's this Chris Cornell then. He must be bloody good if he's better than Richie '. Well, I had a look at a couple of his live gigs on you tube and I can sleep soundly in my bed at night knowing that he most certainly isn't. Couple of flat notes in places and also he doesn't have the warmth that Richie has. Please don't anybody try to tell me any different 'cos I have 'perfect pitch' and have been in this business for fifty years. RICHIE.... YOU ARE THE DADDY.... NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. After gigging for over fifty years I'm now starting to use my fingers more instead of a pick. I got a long way to go but I really am liking it. Thanks for the inspiration man...😎

coming from a HUGE Richie fan, and also Chris Cornell: I sincerely think Chris Cornell has written more memorable songs than Richie, which may explain why Richie is compared to Cornell, who had become a bigger musician. Richie, on the other hand, has amazing musicianship and kills it live both singing and playing, unlike Cornell... So, I hand both what they deserve - in my opinion, of course. :)

He has MANY MANY MEMORABLE songs, the kinda "Why I've never thought that song before?!?!", in a musician way, if you know what I mean. If you need some place to start or a list just let me know. I'm not any "new Richie's fan", let's say, from the Winery Dogs success, so I've heard the whole thing and it's well settle down through the years, and not everything is great, namely, Winery dogs for example, most of the winery dogs songs are not memorable!, they are more commercial to me... and the first cd!! not even Richie like that! haha, take care!

Not only "Native Tongue" is the best Poison album by far, "Fire and Ice" is the best song the band has ever recorded, even better than "Stand", which is awesome too.
