Try adding a gallon of water to 1/4 cup of lemon juice. Then add in around 2 cups of sugar. Stir it up and taste. This way you will have more wiggle room to adjust the lemonade to your desired taste. You can either freeze it in ice cube trays or make lemon curd, lemon bars, lemon & poppyseed snack bread, lemon pound cake, lemon & blueberry muffins , lemon meringue pie, etc. you haven’t lost anything! Do a whole segment on how to turn what you might think is a failure into a success! Call it when life hands you lemons.

I’ve gotten me a bread machine from Aldi while back. I need to break down and try it out. Some of my goals this summer is to learn to make bread, pull out my instant pot, start sewing, and grow my garden in pots. Last summer I had a small pot garden.

Oh, no! When the lemon rind fell, I thought, "It's not separating the zest from the pith." I'm so sorry it didn't turn out. Have you tried canning some of the Strawberry 🍓 Lemonade Concentrate from Ball? You can use other fruits beside strawberries ... blueberries 🫐 are good. Shelf stable goodness. 1 pint +3 pints water = 1 gallon lemonade. The cookies look delicious. They look like the Oreo Cakesters or Whoopie Pies.😋

Use a manual juicer for lemons and oranges. You get that sour peel mixed in using the juicer that you have, you dont want that. Also heat your water and sugar on the stove togther, just warm enough to melt the sugar well. Then let cool and add to a pitcher with your freshly hand squeezed lemon juice. You will love it.

That cheese grater is my most used kitchen gadget. I think the bitterness in your lemonade may be from the white pith of the peel. If Winston likes bananas, you could freeze them and make banana "ice cream". I blend them in my Vitamix and sometimes add chocolate syrup or peanut butter. I hope you were able to find something to do with your lemon juice that failed? Also do you use the pulp and zest that’s in the other part? You could add it to a mason jar and fill with vinegar and water and let it sit for a while and then you’d have a lovely smelly cleaner for all kinds of spaces. You can do the same with oranges. I wonder if you could use the lemon juice to make lemon curd (pudding) or lemon cupcakes? I never throw anything out even failures I always look for some way to use them. As for the bananas I make banana oat pancakes in a blender and my granddaughter loves them! They freeze well and you can reheat in a toaster or microwave.

@janakoenig59199 ай бұрын
The problem with the lemonade is, you did not remove the peel. The pith, (the white part), is what makes it bitter. You can zest the lemons, then peel and juice and add the zest back in and get a very yummy concentrate.

Hey Tamara 👋🏼. How do you convert you bread recipe to use in a stand mixer instead of the bread machine?
@TracyShead-Stamey9 ай бұрын
Place warm water, yeast, and tablespoons of sugar in the mixer bowl. In a separate bowl, mix salt and flour. After yeast proofs, add any oil or butter and the rest of any sweetener. Use your bread hook and add flour a third or so at a time so you don't get the flour cloud. When dough forms ball, let it kneed for about 5 minutes. Oil the bowl and top of dough, and let rise covered until it doubles. Place in bread pans the way you would any bread recipe. Let rise again, then bake. 350 for about 30-40 minutes or until internal temps run 190-200 degrees. I convert many bread recipes from mixer to bread machine and bread machine to mixer. Once you have done it a couple of times, you will be able to take any recipe and do whatever conversion you want. Good luck.
