IDK why they change the rules around over and over. I'm not a creator but I've seen kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnbPe3p4jJx1qNU from 8 years ago than 5 months ago kzbin.info/www/bejne/o16bpoNmbLGgh5o But I recall another youtuber about a year and a half ago saying they stopped allowing 24 hour videos and if you look up literally "24 hour video" there does seem to be a gap around 3 years ago to 1 year ago in videos over 12 hours. anyways weird tangent over.

Dude, I enjoy your videos, but what the hell happened to you? Ok, ya, I've got two tattoo's, both crosses, one above my heart and one on my back, right shoulder, where nobody can see them. Why? They aren't for show. I know they are there and they keep me remembering where my heart and mind should be. I say this because you look like you got into a fight with a tat-gun, and you lost bro. If you were my "famorite son", I'd tell you to shave those twigs off your face and cover those tat's up. I'm not saying you can't do what you want, bro. I'm saying, you built a brand and I've been watching your stuff for years, bro. Now, you look like someone who has to stay half-a-mile away from kids play-grounds and schools. You speak clearly and well. You use your mind well. You used to look like like you carried yourself well. And, your intro used to feature things that reflected being someone who had their stuff together. You wore a button up shirt, for heaven's sake. Ya, I get it. The world these days don't make much of looking like a shit-bag, but it's a hell of a thing to see someone like you being that vapid and shallow. Why? That ain't your brand, or not how it used to be, any way. It makes me think, what are you running from, Bro? It makes me want to ask, are you ok, Bro? Have you ever heard this saying before, Bro? You can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy. Ever heard that saying, Bro? Maybe tattoo's and the hammered-shit look is what "all the kids are doing", but you wear it like just plain shit because, my Brother-in-Christ, unless you want to start from scratch and talk like you are some ignorant thug, that ain't you. You don't curse like someone with a 1000 word vocabulary. You speak like someone one with a 1,000,000,000 word vocabulary, smart, clear, clean, and you elivate the video's you make by doing so. That's what hits-the-mark so hard with your videos! Your video's are many things and the subject matter may be, itself, shallow, but you, Bro, ain't shallow. You elivate, Bro, and by so doing, elivate the listener. Not for the public, Bro. Not for us. Do a Retrospective of yourself, of your chanel, and your brand and and all that you have built, Bro. Ask yourself, why am I throwing away what I (you) made, that you own? Brother, ain't nobody throwing away Ferrari's and Lamborghini's. Ya, maybe you sell 'em. Only a jack-ass throws one away. And, Bro, you've got more than that in what you've built here. It's your Reputation, Brother. You do what you've got to do. But, I watch your stuff with my kids and I share my love of games with them through things like this. I can't, in good conscience, let them see that you look like crap, as a person. Why? Because, all young men make dumb choices out of the barn. That doesn't mean I don't want them to consider their own future and where they want to go, never mind me. And, Brother, what we look like is our "Billboard" to the people we meet and what we have to share. You don't piss that down the drain lightly. Why? My kids are going to be who they are, long after I am gone. They are going to get old. Their tattoo's are going to show long after they have become old white dudes, and father's in their own right. So, ask the question's, Brother. The hard one's. The one's that young men should ask. What would I want for my own children, when I become a father? What do I want to forge into my legacy? Time to get serious, Bro. I still like your video's. I can't deny that your presentation, personally, has turned into shit and I've lost some respect for your work because of it. Watch old Kevin Samuels video's. He died, but he has something to say to men and women. Watch some Jordan Peterson. He is alive and he also has something to say to men and women. You are worth it, "Yourfavoriteson".

So I know the gene thing is confusing at first glance, and it's easy to get wrong. Solid DID get the dominant genes, the genes most common. Liquid did get the recessive genes, genes less common. However, the recessive genes are the ones that would make a better soldier. Quicker reaction time, better eyesight, problem solving, etc. Liquid just heard recessive and thought that it was bad. Solid being the inferior clone is why the "don't be chained by your genes" message is relevant. If the soldier genes that the project was trying to exploit were dominant, then they wouldn't be worth exploiting, they'd be readily available in the population.

Metal Gear Solid is my all time favorite video game franchise as well. As you ve rightfully mentioned in the beginning of the video it sticks with you after you play the games and enter its world. Everything from music design artwork gameplay etc is so freaking good and above everything its story dialogues and cinematic. Such a deep franchise, its main entries will forever leave a mark on the video game industry and imo in arts in general. like he says ;) « we need to pass the torch (…) building the future, and keeping the past alive, are one and the same thing »
@nilus2k2 ай бұрын
What is funny is despite it being a bad port and disowned. For a lot of us older gamers the NES Metal Gear was our entry into the series. Also with the coverage of Snatcher and Policenaughts, you could add coverage of Death Stranding and just call this a Kojima retrospective One more edit as I watch. The need for a manual for Metal Gear 2 was probably as much a copywriter protection scheme as it was an immersion tool

1:19:50 Shinkawa leaving absolutely made a difference in quality of the games. The optional codec calls are huge in filling in backstory, and adding depth to characters. MGS4 has next to no optional codec calls, and all of the characters fall apart as a result.

I’m confused, did you mean to mention Fukushima? Yoji has been a part of every team up to death stranding. His role was dialed back in 4 on the design level but he was still integral for the art. Fukushima is the one often used as a reference for when the game lost a step in terms of dialogue and depth regarding characterization. But the fact that there’s a huge mystery around the man and whether he was even really doing what he was credited for is a whole rabbit hole in and of itself unfortunately.
@tricd04442 ай бұрын
@@coldwarmike I probably did mean Fukushima and just mixed up the names from hearing both in the video. Regardless of who ends up being responsible, MGS4 takes away the optional codec calls and we lose a ton of that backstory and "extra" that always gave a nice touch to all of the previous games. There is no similar reward to exploring the codec menu in MGS4 compared to previous titles, and I feel like it suffers because of it.
@coldwarmike2 ай бұрын
@@tricd0444 no worries I honestly thought I missed something is the only reason I asked lol. Fukushima is an interesting one though because the case for better dialogue with him is absolutely there, but the fact that he’s just gone without a trace after the first few is so odd and makes it all so weird as far as explaining the why and how

About the codec call where they talk about the internet in MGS2, the first world countries have had internet access for around 30 years, but new countries are still coming online. The internet is still in its early stages, and as more cultures/age groups join, social media clashes will happen more often. Over time, I think these cultures will blend into one global internet culture, something we already see in first world countries where people communicate through memes.

That feeling you described is accurate 100%! I'll admit that I hadn't played the first MGS due to not being able to find a copy until first class in highschool having already played MGS 2 just months prior to that. It was the first year of the economic crisis and it was the year I'd make new friends and do regular sleepovers almost every Friday to Sunday. MGS as a series always creates Christmas vibes (like Diehard Christmas kind of vibes) to the point that one might feel like something is missing after watching the ending of each entry (especially mgs 2 and 1): what's missing is probably a cover of "let it snow". Sounds catchy and basic but as a person who tends to watch the entire series cutscenes starting from November to finish a week before Christmas and Xenosaga during summers I can tell that these two franchises have their kind of timing to watch them because I've tried watching either of them during different times of the year and it just feels off!

I heard a commentary that how the fulton system functions in MGS5 vs. how it actually works makes it look like Kojima and staff went to Wikipedia and read the first few sentences and stopped there. I read it myself, and that sounded spot on. If there's anything I won't trust Kojima on, is things like physics and structural integrity. Also, MGS5 takes place in the 50s I think, and yet they have portable wormhole generators. And I don't think even nano machines can explain Psycho Mantis flying. I think that rule of cool commentary from earlier is all that matters in MGS.

I don't remember how I felt about Raiden at first, but I know I didn't sit there going "I'm not playing Snake?! LITERALLY UNPLAYABLE!!" But think right here, right now, he really is a good stand in for later gen Y and especially gen Z compared to Snake being more like boomer and gen X. Snake is the old guy, that learned the old ways, and did things the "real" way as they'd say. Raiden is younger guy, that grew up with new methods, and learned via technology rather than as direct hands on, and has possibly never seen any of the old methods.

Very true. I’m sure I was a little bummed at first when I realized I won’t be playing as snake. remember, they advertised basically only the Tanker portion of the game in commercials I’m pretty sure, so it did look like it’d be another game where you play as snake but then you get past the first maybe 45 min- an hour of the game (depending on how you play) and now you’re just some guy 🫤 still didn’t make the game unplayable by any means 🤷 as a matter of fact, MGS2 is still my favorite Metal Gear to this day

I have mixed feelings about things like the "back of the CD" case. I used to rent games all the time, and someone at school was confused when I got stuck trying to find the codec number. Then I was confused how they were so confused I was confused, and then confused at their explanation how it was so obvious and simple. I know Japan is, or at least was different and didn't have rentals, you either bought the game or didn't, but over here, that was almost a lost sale. Renting was a means to try before you buy, and that was almost a lost permanent sale. And while we do have the Internet today, there are games that don't do a good job ensuring you have access to that information within the product, like StarTropics not including any variation of the old physical letter with the online only version of the game on the Switch.

Way back when, living in Scandinavia, I was fortunate enough to get all of my PS1 really cheap - didn’t occur to me that the guy who sold them was pirating them, all I cared about was getting a new game once a week (all allowance spend, it reckon it amounts to 10$-ish) so when THAT specific section came along, I had two problems: Could barely understand English as it is and had no clue what was meant by “back of the CD case” so, tenacious as a gamer can be, just started dialing all frequencies until Meryl’s popped up. Cannot begin to comprehend how long that must’ve taken to figure out. Point being - where there’s a will, there’s a way?
