Not gonna lie i played a timed demo of the pc version as a teenager and that demo scared me so much that i dared not play the game until many years later, and even then i used a guide to start with. But i did beat both campaigns eventually and it felt very triumphant, finally i had not only dared to play the game that scared me so much as a teenager, but i even mastered it and got the good endings with plenty of ammo and supplies left over.

Ok. A thing to mention: - Hylden. They are another race of ancient being. They refused to take part in The Wheel thing for Elder God, so thats why the ancient war. The ancient vampires were manipulated by Elder God to battle Hylden, so he can feed on theirs souls (cause they were immortal until you kill them). To banish them, Vampires created pillars as lock to separate Nosgoth from Nether realm, where they banished Hylden. Thats why demons appeared in SR2 after the collapse of pillars. They were mutated Hylden by eons of banishment. Ant the Oracle is one of pacifistic Hylden that were never banished (a minority in fact). And the is not a vampire, she is an original Hylden. And the Sarafan is Hylden Boss in a body of Janos (thats where Defiance meets BO2)

I played this game when I was like 13-14 and got the deluxe box set or whatever it was for the special edition, and at the time I was a action explosion screw the cutscenes kinda kid at the time, but this game made me appreciate slowing down and playing entirely different from a GTA, or games like that. It was a fantastic experience, and I hope to one day get back to it and play it again as an adult with a slightly different experience to appreciate

REmake is the greatest remake of anything ever maybe. Both RE2 Remake and RE3 Remake are great and good respectively, but I can always go back to RE2 OG and enjoy it as a different flavour.

The voices of the actors in the cutscenes in Silent Hill 1 are so cool. Reminds me of old cartoons and shows. I love the charm and character of old games. I don’t mind re-doing games but as long as you have the old ones available for people who appreciate the charm I’m good with it.

2:15:40 You know that if you just do the side ops as they come in, you can be more than fine against the final bosses without 99% of that amount of tedious grinding 2:27:09 I'm with Steak Bentley on this one, Raiden was absolutely not put in a good place at the end of 4 "mgs4 ruined raidens character and rising salvaged what was left"

Love this game. Instead of switching to Kelso, maybe Cole could've fought a little more dirty to clean up the corrupted system. Bring more like 'them' to fix them. Ending could've been the same maybe. I also wish this dev had a chance to make another game.

The main problem with MGS4, is that it was released to a mass of gamers who are too spoiled to know what is actually good
@susangoaway2 күн бұрын
You have got it very wrong. Simulation games were not a meme, they never were. These were actual games, made seriously, but turned out to be poorly made. That first game was most certainly not a meme game. How did you even get to that conclusion? "Even for 2015" I'm sorry? Wdym "even"? The average indie game looked 2015-ish, not like a game from the early 2000s.

This game means so much to me and I don't really know why. It just feels so utterly singular, and important, and just like MGS1 every sound and bit of music in the game conjures the essence of it.

Resident Fear is proof that just because you CAN make a game, doesn't mean that you SHOULD. There really needs to be more quality control out of Valve to filter out shit like that.

It started development as System Shock, that’s where the idea of fully explorable ship came from. Then that big shooter game (re4) came out and they wanted a piece of those money.

The first thing that really got under my skin about Alan Wake 2 was the dreadful signposting. By "signposting," I mean the way a game subtly guides you through levels while maintaining an illusion of openness. In Alan Wake 2, this is outright terrible. Take the opening moments in the woodland area: You’ll see what looks like a perfectly passable path, only to awkwardly stop dead in your tracks because there’s a two-inch rock or log in the way. Fine, you think-so you try another route, only to find yourself walking in circles because the actual path forward looks just as blocked as the fake ones. It’s maddening. When I finally stumbled onto the correct path, I ran into yet another outdated trope: a fuse box missing its fuse. And here’s where the game truly tested my patience. I wandered around-again-looking for the fuse, only to discover that it’s broken and I have to find another one. I felt like the game was outright trolling me at this point. And guess what? This isn’t a one-off. I’ve had to hunt for fuses FOUR times so far, and just to keep things “exciting,” the game also made me search for a screwdriver. It feels like a joke, but not the funny kind. Another moment that highlights the poor design is when you’re looking for the Koskella brothers. There’s a “Road Closed” sign, and based on earlier experiences with impassable terrain, I assumed I couldn’t go down that way. After wasting time, I had to check a KZbin video-turns out, you can go that way. This kind of inconsistency isn’t clever; it’s infuriating. And let’s not even talk about how you can’t drive cars anymore, something you could do in the first game. A last-gen game let you run enemies over and explore, while this one locks you into a rigid, scripted experience. The movement itself feels clunky and stiff. You can’t even hop down a ledge naturally-you have to stand in the exact right spot and press a button. It’s like the developers went out of their way to remind you that you’re not in control. This trend of “press button to do the thing” is turning modern games into walking simulators. Now, the story. I have to admit, I stopped caring pretty early on. The dialogue repeatedly hammers phrases like “the Dark Presence” and “the Dark Place,” and it’s impossible to take seriously. I already know the ending is going to be some vague, cryptic nonsense, much like the first game’s “It’s not a lake; it’s an ocean.” It feels like the writers don’t want to commit to any real resolution, leaving a trail of unanswered questions behind. And don’t get me started on the story board mechanic-it feels like pinning the tail on the donkey while blindfolded. Quick-time events make a return too, though thankfully they’re used sparingly. Still, it feels like another relic of gaming past that doesn’t belong here. Looking back, the first Alan Wake was a much better game. It wasn’t perfect, but at least it gave you more freedom and variety. I don’t trust reviews anymore-calling this “Game of the Year” feels like a joke. I’m 80% through, and I’d give it a 5/10 at best. The repetitive fetch quests, convoluted story, and stiff gameplay make this a chore to play. If walking around in circles looking for fuses and screwdrivers is your idea of fun, more power to you. For me, it’s a massive disappointment.

I dunno, it's a fine coop shooter. It's a good game. Whole series is like that - horror-themed shooters with occassional jumpscares. Body-horror isn't a genre per-se, even DS1 was a straight up shooter anyway, just a slower paced. It was designed as a narrative-driven shooter in the first place. All three games follow the same formula as Doom - you enter the room, get locked, monsters spawn, you shoot them with a various guns, then doors open. Then you shoot a boss. Tbf I couldn't care less about Dead Space losing it's "horror. It wasn't any scary in the first place. Tense? Yeah. But scary? FFS it had gigantic tentacle monsters on a basketball field.
