One of your best videos so far Terry 🧙♂(not that I've watched all of them. Yet). I much prefer Hilton too Milton Abbas, which is too chocolate-boxy for my taste. The Hilton churchyard is like my lawn these days, left for the insects and birds, and all the better for it. I assumed everyone talked to the animals - sheep, cattle, pigs, horses, ducks and swans, i talk to 'em all and often in their language 🙂. I look forward to Part 2. Bev

Lovely Video complimented with interesting historical facts and folklore insights. Aren't the churches of Dorset villages beautiful? I wonder how big their congregations are nowadays? Getting off the beaten track and conversing with cows and sheep brings serenity to ones life. Looking forward to part 2.

Ah, thanks Ian 😀 Yes, every village has a lovely church and the history of church architecture is really interesting 😀 As for talking to animals…..some would say it’s a sign of madness 🤣

Sir John Betjeman had a passion for churches, and the heritage and preservation of listed buildings. Many pretty gingerbread cottages in that area, they give out such a peaceful, easy feeling! Are there many maintenance roof thatchers in the Dorset area? Hanging golf balls in an area, is to encourage nesting hens to lay eggs.

Yes, it is a very pretty village 😀 Well, I see thatchers often on my walks so I guess there are a few at least. Interesting about the golf balls - I thought people just put them in nest boxes to encourage hens to lay there.
