KSI is a frustrating figure when it comes to a lot of online beef, he's been in the right more than the wrong over the years but he just can't be right without making it a bit of an ego trip. Like the recent event where ispeedshow was bugging him to box him because he thought he was stronger, KSI was right from the beginning that it wasn't gonna be a good idea and that he wouldn't win but my god does he like to play shit up.

But when that didn’t work a few months after he lost he made a entire video just constantly disrespecting Tommy over things that had nothing to do with the match & telling his fan base to go annoy him on social media and real life & tell the boxing commission they were wrong in their decision that he was the real winner. Like just accept you lost and move on whining about losing is just going to make you look more pathetic than Tommy because while he did talk shit before fighting KSi I haven’t seen him whine so hard about losing he just goes back in the ring to prove himself or gets a rematch like your suppose to do.

know what the worst part of this was? Alesa has been defending herself for years. all this information was out in the open, and she was still villainized. it was only after a tweet got viral that people finally saw that Sky was the bad parent. they literally weaponized a young fanbase to harass her. nothing that we can ever do will ever make it up to her, ever.

I was taught at work and certain other resources that there's 8 different types of abuse: physical, sexual, emotional, mental, psychological, economic, intimidation, harassment, and stalking. This man hit all of them.
@olajohnson2423
@olajohnson2423 2 жыл бұрын
@@sithlordgmoney6787 they’re synonymous, but can be categorized separately; although, I believe mental and psychological should be grouped together. Emotional abuse is specifically used to demean and create a sense of worthless in the victim; convincing them that the abuse is deserved. It’s also typically tied to verbal abuse (name calling, shaming, humiliation, demeaning). This is the destruction of self esteem, the deterioration of mental health (causing depression/attachment issues), and low self worth. Physiological/mental abuse would be more like gaslighting, guilt tripping, manipulation (but typically in the sense that they make you second guess yourself/your actions: e.g. am I really being abused?). This is the destruction of mental well being, cause of paranoia, heightened anxiety, and [mental] self doubt. They have a lot of similarities and often overlap, but they also have distinctive differences.

It's never easy to see someone you idolize be revealed to be a bad person. If you looked up to Sky there's no shame in that, there's no shame in looking back at those memories fondly. That doesn't mean you should continue to support them.

@@alisana8346 Please don't forget that most of the people who "looked up to Adam" looked up to them when they were 10-15 years old while they were making Minecraft content. Sky's content was made and directly tailored for this demographic; I don't hold my 12-year-old self for being infatuated with a celebrity because that's what 12-year-olds do. Even if I wasn't still attached to Sky when all of this came out, it still hurts because of the good memories that I had from them during that time in my life.

@@alisana8346 My point was that most of the people disappointed by this particular situation weren't actively following Sky, but are rather past fans of theirs. I agree that we shouldn't idolize celebrities, but in this case, saying that is kind of preaching to the choir. Again, completely agree with your point - and it's definitely important to take this as a lesson for why we should avoid idolization in the future - but the people here were probably not actively idolizing Sky when this all went down.

@@saviergg2351 Another good thing they caused for you was the experience of finding the worst in an idol. It’s a crucial life lesson how much you can’t know a person, especially one you’ve never shared a home with. It’s so so so common for d*mestic ab*sers to have a great image. It’s even common for pr*dators (like p*dophiles) to have a good home life. It’s good that you experienced this with an idol, so you learned before someone could harm you like he did with zero warning. Being aware that most ab*sers appear innocent from the outside ironically will help you more in life than if they’d been a good person. Be kind to yourself, all you did “wrong” was expect people to be decent. And that doesn’t sound like a character flaw to me.

@@yahney-marie Thanks for the reply. I see what you were getting at and I think you're absolutely right. Parasocial relationships have been around at least since the dawn of TV, but the rise of social media has made them worse. You can end friendships and still be respectful about it. Something like "we are unfortunately parting ways but I still care for them and wish them the best on their journey". BTW I didn't even know this person existed before this video cuz I don't care about minecraft so I can only judge his demeanor from this video. People that treat people as disposable and who's first reaction is to talk shit the second any minor dispute happens don't really have any friends cuz they will eventually socially outcast themselves and it's entirely their own fault. 30:35 just says it all. While "apoligizing" he also looks annoyed, and then goes on to feel sorry for himself talking about how much pressure he was under yada yada yada. The way he describes his point of view it really sounds like he is trying to justify to himself that since he was under pressure that gives him a free pass to treat people like shit. Get outta here with your stupid boo hoo poor me attitude.

Holy shit, I was wondering when people were gonna start talking about this more. Adam was successful in destroying the reputations of his old "friends" so much that people don't even pay attention to them anymore which caused the majority of people miss what happened. It sucks that so much was happening but due to the age of most of his fan base at the time,no one ever noticed. Alesa was villanized for trying to be a good mother and Adam capitalized off of the hate long enough to figure out a new way to exploit his fans for money. I hate knowing I supported him as long as I did, but I also can't hold it against me or others because of our ages at the time most of this happened. I myself am only 19 now. I'm not one to assume, but I don't think the "Fame" was what did him in, do I don't think you would've been doomed to the same path. From all the information, adam was a product of what happens to someone who was neglected/abused in childhood with possibly developing a mental illness along the way. A tragedy that unfolded made by a mentally unstable man that was given too much power, and didn't get help. Being a former fan, while I condemn him for all the torturous things he's done that's reached far past the point of forgiveness, I do hope the man finds some professional help. Drastic professional help. It's clear that his quality of life is in the drain, with seemingly 0 long term personal connection to anyone. Even if just to atone for all the harm he has caused to all those around him, and himself. Even as a deeply horrible person, no one deserves to be chained to their demons.

Out of all the members of the group, Adam was the most distant towards the fans, talking to event staff and blatantly ignoring people just coming to say hello. I agree, I will still hold those memories dear to me, but I’m not gonna ignore what he’s done... I’ll watch this video one day, just not now...

Finding out people whose work you enjoy are terrible human beings isn't something that's limited to the current generation. It's been happening since the rise of mass media. There's a drummer I really like named Jim Gordon. He played on a ton of records back in the late 60s and 70s and I love listening to him play. As that was before my time, I didn't really know anything about Jim Gordon. Eventually I learned he was in prison because he murdered his mother in 1983. I love The Beatles but I also know John Lennon abused his first wife. People are really into Michael Jackson but it's incredibly obvious he was a child molester. In all those cases and the one concerning Sky that knowledge shouldn't do anything to make your past enjoyment of their work somehow wrong. I don't think it should effect your enjoyment of their work in the future after you learn the awful truth about them. The art is not the artist.

when I was a kid, I watched EVERY SINGLE VIDEO OF Skys, I event sent a package to the office, basically thanking every single one of the workers for what they do. and I remember when sky was reading my card, they skipped over the parts for everyone involved except for them. I painted a board, and spent a lot of time on it, and never saw it after that video. I knew they had drama with Alisa, but I never knew how deep it went. I never would of supported someone like them, and it breaks my heart to know what a monster they were, behind such a fun and welcoming persona. I would always wonder why so many people were leaving, and what happened to the house, but didn't have social media to follow the drama. this is absolutely wild.

To tell you the truth, I think it’s a mixture of multiple different factors. 1) lots of Minecraft KZbinrs had tough teenage years at school - hence going into Minecraft, but always keeping a chip on their shoulder about their experience 2) their egos go massive because of so many people watching them and sending them kind letters and gifts - but their remains a certain dissonance because they are ‘just Minecraft KZbinrs’ and feel that they are a little pathetic that this is what they do all day. (Hence the constant desire for many of them to branch out into other ventures) 3) they spend all their time online, which means gross sexual degeneracy, brainlet takes and lots of echo chambers. Such an environment almost encourages abuse. There are other things I’m sure, but these three main reasons are much if the cause I think.

I just want to jump in and reply to this comment. So firstly, back in the day, I was the completely opposite of you haha. I watched Sky regularly, and occasionally watched DanTDM. Anyway, I think it’s good that you’re relieved that the youtuber who you watched more has turned out to be a much nicer person than another youtuber, but I feel like that’s not the best way of looking at this. Sky’s whole situation has taught us that despite the fact that this youtuber has had such a positive influence on our childhood, with countless fun memories from videos, he still turned out to be a pretty shitty person. This should really teach us that we will never ever truly know what happens behind the scenes in the lives of KZbinrs and celebrities. We shouldn’t automatically assume that they are good people once the camera is turned off. So, I can absolutely see that your comment has very good intentions, but what you really need to think about is how you really just have no idea whether DanTDM is actually a really good person in real life. I’m not suggesting he’s done something bad, but you just never know. By taking away a message of “oh well at least *this* youtuber is a good person”, you’ve kinda missed the whole message that we should take away from what we learnt about Sky. A similar thing happened a couple years ago, when a youtuber I watched as a kid was revealed to have done some nasty shit, and then people started looking towards another youtuber from that group, saying “Oh well at least this one never does anything wrong”. That youtuber then made a post saying that basically, the audience have no idea what any youtuber is doing irl so they shouldn’t look at things like that. If you read about parasocial relationships, it’s a pretty interesting kinda thing. Sorry for the long comment, but I just wanted to pop in and say this.

@@sarcolinejesus no yeah I get that. It’s not the specific wording that drove me to respond, it’s moreso this idea of hearing X celebrity is bad, and then going “oh well at least Y celebrity hasn’t done anything bad”. It kind of leaves us all in this repetitive cycle of jumping onto “unproblematic” celebrities and viewing them as good, instead of properly confronting the issue that many of us have with parasocial relationships and thinking that a person is the some on-screen and off-screen. Whether they said “seems” or “is”, it’s the same outcome. It’s the same scenario of jumping from the “cancelled” celebrity, to the “not cancelled” celebrity. And tell me, what will they do when DanTDM gets revealed to be a dreadful person who did XYZ terrible things? They’ll say “Oh I didn’t think he would do this. At least Pewdiepie would never do this, because he seems to be a great guy!” It’s just a repeating cycle, if people continue to react to this stuff in this way.

You did an amazing job covering this. Adam was the gateway for me getting into Minecraft KZbin content, even though I got into him during his Sky Media days. I enjoyed his videos then! Sadly, like every one of his viewers, we wanted to work at Sky Media, because it was of the "coolest places ever". However that can't be further from the truth. Max admitted the place was an digesting pigsty to work in and that Adam had two schedules, one for when he would come in when he felt like it and one for when everyone was "ungrateful" to him. Alesa admitted she worked there, even though it wasn't a known fact and she was basically Adam's ride to work, but when Adam didn't want to go in, she couldn't either, so she couldn't make money when he didn't want to go in AND that Adam sang a love song for another female co-worker in front of Alesa while everybody was watching, leaving people confused. Honestly, the stories I read about how Adam treated people were horribly digesting and they still give me goosebumps for how bad they were!
