Two things this film needs to be good: - It needs to love Minecraft. No self-conscious digs at the source material or calling to attention some of the weird nonsensical stuff ("I can't believe this water just saved me from a 200-ft fall!" or some shit like that). It needs to reflect the feeling of wonder somebody gets when playing minecraft for the first time. - Revamp ALL of the CGI assets. All of them.

Credit where credit is due, that Iron Sword looks SICK AF!!!! You know, this actually gives me a little more hope for the movie, and I think that may have been because the first trailer was almost entirely outdoors where the lighting made everything look way too artificial. This, where they're in a dungeon or a dimly light base, looks way better. The colors and textures blend better with each other, and those furnaces behind give it a better feel. I highly doubt this movie is going to be a home run or get the Sonic treatment, but the first trailer made me think this movie was going to be a disaster, but this trailer is making me think it's going to be a fun video game flick.
