To be fair, the Minecraft movie has been in development since 2014. This was before Detective Pikachu, before Sonic and before Mario. This means live action was long planned for this movie and the movie didn't have Mario as an animated success for a video game movie. And for that, it doesn't look that bad 😅

Yeah, people are just alfraid this new style. Probably because this is first offical live action Minecraft content and for example, Disney has done some terrible remakes like Pinocchio. I have to admit that this looks really weird, but i'm not going to just say that whole movie would be bad.

Live action could have worked, if it weren't an exact copy of Jumanji. If they had tried, no one would call it a copy of Jumanji, at least they would say it's bad because it's bad, not because it's a copy of another movie.

I think a combination of both. Part of it is live action, part of it is animated. Live action when they're not in the minecraft world, animation when theyre in the minecraft world. Animation and visual changing during the movie is a trend bakc in the prine disney movies
