The greatest thing about Fairyland Cottage and living minimally, is that it allows you to get in touch with your creativity and artistic skills. I like what you do with natures gifts! And me and my family also reuse the same decorations every year too. We've had the same ones for a decade now. Ill always be subscribed to your channel! Me too.. Dad used to prop them on the bars of the open fire. It was usually a hit and miss affair as one of two fell in the fire or they were burnt one side and raw the other! Happy, happy memories. I roast mine in the oven but they just don't taste the same

I've made my holiday decor more natural in the last few years and it makes Christmas so much more enjoyable. Just some lights on a natural tree, orange slices, homemade ornaments made of cranberry and cinnamon. It smells AMAZING. This year, on my dining room table, I put a candle in the middle of a bowl of red apples and pine, and that's my holiday decor along with my tree. Christmas is so much nicer when consumerism is left out of it.

I absolutely love your videos and one thing they have taught me already is to think and plan ahead - collect berries, chestnuts etc. in summer and autumn so we have something to snack on in winter, collect moss and oranges in autumn so we have Christmas decoration etc. Instead of buying everything that we desire right here, right now because it is available your approach makes us pause for a little while and think ahead. It teaches us patience as we do something and put effort in and reap the benefits weeks or months later. This is a rare skill nowadays and I'm glad your videos remind me of grooming it constantly :)

Hi Niamh, I just found your site tooling around on youtube cause I'm having a bout of insomnia (again! 😠) and PLEASE, PLEASE don't take this the wrong way, but this is just what I needed! 😉 The tranquility and calm, the peace and quiet of your surroundings, the music and most of all your soothing and absolutely lovely brogue! On one hand it's hypnotic and like a lullaby to a child, I could drift off. But on the other hand, I could listen to you speak forever! My mom and most of the Irish side of my family are all originally from Birr, Offaly, and you sound just like them. Well, anyway I just want to let you know you're a blessing to me and I look forward to more of your videos! Merry Christmas and a very healthy and Happy New Year!
