It's crazy how this game released with little to no fanfare. Back when it was still an arcade cabinet I was hoping for a home console release since I pretty much had no time to actually go to the arcades where the machines were at, but all these years later when Shredder's Revenge already beat the pants off of it, yeah it's best to just wait to see it at a bargain bin for like five bucks. As I've heard the voice actors rerecorded their lines, so I guess that explains why they all sound phoned in.

Rob Paulsen voiced Donatello in the 2012 iteration of TMNT. He's also the OG Raph.

I didn’t realize he was the voice for Donnie, but the lines they give him for this game are rough.

People are being too nice to this game. If you ask anyone who knows me to describe my top two interests, everyone would say TMNT and video games.(Especially beat 'em ups) Unfortunately, this game is hot garbage. I've seen several excuses, like "It's seven years old" or "It's an arcade game" or "It's made for kids." Guys, you are more than welcome to your opinion, but this game plays like a worse version of Turtles in Time: Re-shelled, which is fifteen years old, based on an ARCADE game for KIDS that is thirty three years old. I love the 2012 TMNT show but as perfectly stated in the video, take the IP out of this game and it's awful. It was a cash grab as an arcade game and it's an even bigger one as a home release. At $30 I find it difficult to recommend this to ANYONE. 3/10 is being generous and that's ONLY for the IP and the diehard fans. If it takes you (at least it does me) longer to earn the money to buy the game, than it does for you to complete the game, there's an issue.

I am fairly confused when I see places like IGN give it a 6/10. There just isn't much game here at all and what is there is VERY basic. And I agree with your statement, if I takes me longer to earn the money than to finish the game there is a problem. Thanks for the input man!

reshelled was cool and played fine...controls were spot on, graphics were clean and it's fun. It doesn't matter how long it takes to beat a game to value its worth. Replayablitity is a major factor in buying games. That said this is not just an arcade game, it's a win tickets arcade game. It's not that great but you better expect it to be short and not made by people like Nintendo or wayforward.

I just started playing this with my mom and beat easy mode and now on normal mode and I think it will get borning but it's fun just a game that you won't play that much

I checked the Hong Kong Nintendo eshop and Hong Kong PSN hoping to get it for a few bucks cheaper but its not listed in either services. I did check one online shop in Hong Kong and they're selling the ps4, ps5 and switch versions for $32 Canadian dollars. Probably about $20 bucks American. This store only has the UK version in stock.

That’s really weird that it’d be a solid 33% cheaper if you buy it abroad like that. Wonder why it’s not roughly the same all over

@@Ogles physical games have always been cheaper in Hong Kong. Last September, I even went ahead and bought that awful Mortal Kombat 1 for the Nintendo Switch for around $45 US dollar, at launch. And Super Mario Bros Wonder was $280 HK dollars ($35 American) at launch. I'd tell you where to get it but KZbin keeps deleting my post when I mention the name of the place

Splintered Fate is an EXCELLENT game and leagues above this one. Will def be double dipping and getting a console version of SF.

Bought and beat the game twice and yeahhh..def not worth the $30....$15 at most but i agree $10 wouldve been a much better price. I like to get trophies and this'll be an easy platinum so thats the only reason im really replaying it. Unlocked hard mode so now I can play with my teenage kids and have an hour of fun with them plus get my final trophy so theres that. I dont regret the purchase cuz im a fan but i do feel they took advantage of us fans

It will def be an easy platinum and sounds like some good bonding time with the family as well so has some def pros for you. But glad to know other people feeling similar that they’re charging too much just knowing us fans are going to prob buy it regardless. Thanks for the input!

I retract my previous statement of it being an easy platinum lol....hard mode is actually hard....I've only been able to complete one level so far on hard mode...its actually quite challenging because there's A LOT more enemies that come at you and the pizza health placements remains the same...

I play games over and over just for fun but the only thing I dont like about this game is the lack of online play because I have a Switch Lite

It’s sad bc they could have done so much more to beef the game up a bit but they just took such a basic route. But if on sale enough, it can be a fun playthrough esp with friends.

@@yodudeyo100 There's nothing wrong with that, as the 2012 TMNT show was very good. I liked with how it incorporated all of the elements from the comics, 1987 show, the initial movies, and even the 2003 cartoon as well. That while even bringing back the original Turtles, and main villains from the 87 series too.

Nintendo is piling out too many games and I think it's been more quantity than quality here lately 😢. Every week there's 30 plus games. It has definitely lost its old school feel for me and now it's all about money. Extra DLC, amiibo cards and figurines. I quit when physical games become extinct.

Yeah, I’d rather companies slow down a bit and focus more on quality too. This game couldn’t have taken any time to develop since it was a port and they should have just taken a little longer to expand some features and bonuses.

Wish i had found this review before i bought the game i watched an ign and was under the impression it was longer.. Thats the last time i trust ign. This game got me for $20 bucks on sale but wasnt even worth that.

It’s not a bad game. But in all fairness I play it with my kids. Most tmnt beat em ups can be beat in under an hour. It was fun. It nothing ground breaking. But I do agree. Probably shouldn’t be 30.

I could def see it being better for a local co-op family game. I think if they'd priced it accordingly then it would settle better with more fans, especially the ones playing single player. Thanks for the input!

@arbourtown4692 thanks so much! And yes, Splintered Fate is MUCH better. I put tons of hours into it when it was on the Apple Gaming store. Can’t wait for it to come to the Switch!
