A Monitor Designed Just for Programmers? | BenQ RD Series Review

I'm a student and a programmer, and I cannot tell you how much I regret giving this back. It's so nice on the eyes and it really helps with focus. I gave it away because it sucks for gaming, but now I want it back to pair with my gaming monitor. I want to use this one exclusively for productivity. I never realized how tired I got from my other display until I stopped using this and started using that one. It also makes me wonder exactly how much damage am I doing to my eyes.

I can't say about the models above, but I chose the monitor for 2 weeks, spending about 20 hours on reading, and searching for a good monitor with a really inexpensive but high-quality certified matrix. For Coding🤑 and Design🤩, I settled on the BenQ PD2500Q ♥, in all respects, it turned out to be better than other brands in price. Because a real 10-bit quality matrix, without boost with full sRGB and Rec.709 color, will actually cost no less than $1500. Where all parameters actually give 100% spectrum in real tests. The PD2500Q has real 8 bits in the matrix. What a good compromise for working with graphics, for a budget option under $400. Need real tests of RD280U and RD320U monitors, by curves, to say whether it makes sense to buy them or pay extra and take a designer version. Thanks for the video!

I do have a question I currently use an ultrawide as a mobile dev and was looking into either the RD32 or the Apple Studio Display and have no idea of which i'd like more, I do love the aesthetic and quality of the ASD, but all the features is kinda cool

Thanks for the video! I’ve had their 28” model for about 6 weeks, and I feel like my eyes are more comfortable. I’m guessing it’s from the non-glare finish and their color settings for coding? Just ordered the 32” one, hoping the new setup will save my poor eyes 🤓

Hello, I would like to ask if the type of the matte coating on the display, is it hard or soft, graininess of the coating? How does it compares to PD2700q or PD 3205U? Thanks @TechWithTim

What do you think of me making a social media website where dancers can interact and post dance videos ( i also think of adding free KZbin courses with a sorted algorithm as a bonus to my website so it would be useful for beginners to dig into the art form(

Just looked at Amazon for the 32 and the delivery is between 3 to 7 months. Very nice monitor, but to wait six months to receive it, it's no go.

Are the PPI sufficent on the 32" model? Are the text crisp enough? What scaling did you use?

The 28" variety of this monitor is only available through the official BenQ online shop here in Indonesia costing a whopping 12m Rupiah, which is about US$770 against current exchange rates. That's RIDICULOUSLY expensive for what you get for this money.

@@TechWithTim Dear Tim, sorry for having to correct you. I live and work since 2013 in Indonesia, have experience running businesses here and purchased monitors (and other IT hardware) here in the past both wholesale and retail. There are no import levies for electronics in Indonesia, and sales tax is only 11% (12% next year). Here on Java, where most of the Indonesian population lives, you can get a comparable monitor for about a third of this BenQ. To me, this looks more like a clumsy attempt to sell something for a premium price because it's still new. BenQ monitors are widely available here, and their products are usually positioned as value for money offerings, not premium.

It looks pretty similar to the Mac display, you can enable the specific color mode that pretty much matches

@TechWithTim On other 4k monitors I faced an issue with scaling - everything was to small, is it possible to properly scale on this one (I have a not perfect vision)? I guess I'm leaning more towards the 28inch as it more closer to mac ratio

Flicker with BENQ RD24Q. I have BENQ RD24Q and my Eyes notice flickering when i am doing CAD work and i have white lines on dark background. Any others users notice the same flaw. On the marketing page they said it had DC control of the backlight which is obviously false. Disappointment with this. Also have an old BL2411 which does not have such a fatal flow. The effect is similar when you see you turn your head at night and car passing buy with Led rear lights produce a flickering effect.
