Hey mate nice fish and enjoy yours vids but you should consider sharpening an old screw driver so you can brain spike your fish you keep. Puts them out quick and saves them dying slowy and stops the rigamortis so your fish meat stays pristine and you will actually be surprised how much better it tastes. Keep up the good work mate 👍🏼
@AquaMarine10005 жыл бұрын
Yes you are spot on. Lactic acid builds up in the muscle of a stressed animal fish included. I always cut under the gill plates to bleed them out with a pair of stout sheers. One small snip is safer than using a knife. Fish with big teeth get a dressing down with a wooden pacifier before the snip. Cheers
@cal49745 жыл бұрын
@@AquaMarine1000 I brain spike to put them out asap then bleed straight after🤙
@cal49745 жыл бұрын
@@andrewrollins4898 They bleed out no different to before being brain spike lol I've caught many fish and can tell no difference with the amount of blood that comes out after spiking or before. Pretty sure that's how the Japanese prepare a lot of there tuna etc to have it tastes it's best, brain spike, bleed?. All live stock in Australia has it's brains zapped with high voltage then it is bled after and meat is still the same yeh ?
@cal49745 жыл бұрын
@@andrewrollins4898 I suppose we may have to agree to disagree haha everyone has there own ways I suppose and I feel my way works best for me and you feel yours works best for you. At the end of the day the fish just need to be put out fast to be humane and to make it taste better.
@rokkitkit5 жыл бұрын
I do kill the fish and bleed depending on species. I just don't often show in on camera to avoid people getting upset. I often mention it though.... I think ill put together a vid on it going though what I do and why soon to address it 👍
