A mother Genki's trouble. My mother was injured because of Kintaro. Slow motion! Date taken2023.8.31

Kintarou has been a source of trouble for mother Genki recently. He was a little rough with mother Genki, probably because he wanted her to play with him.
When she tried to discipline Kintaro, his father Momotaro reacted, and mother Genki was a little injured.
Incidentally, the timing was (badly?) right. This happened during the slow-motion filming.
The park staff asked us how the trouble happened, so we asked them to check the video. The vet also came and confirmed the condition of mother Genki's injury. It is not a serious injury. Also, the medication for the cheeks seems to be effective. Please don't make a big fuss!

Genki literally mauled the second female put in there almost to death, and are you forgetting in that introduction video she literally mauled him FAR more viciously? Genki is a beautiful, sweet mother for sure, but she got that silverback in her. The reason she ended up with momo is because she kept trying to literally KILL every silverback they matched her with. She also is prone to literally taking giant dumps on her childrens heads.

I think kintaro feels bad for his mom. During the attack he was holding on to dads fur. I think he was trying to help. 😢 poor Genki. Kintaro is still little he’s only 4. 😊 He just wants to constantly play around. He needs someone his age to wear him out and then take a nap. Lol. I believe the best solution would be to create an oasis for Genki to enter as she wants. The smaller room with an exit to the small outdoor area would be perfect. After she enters they could close the gate until she is ready to return to the boys. They could build Kintaro a fire hose swing, hang ropes from the top bars and find other toys he could play with. Momotaro was doing what silverbacks should do, protecting his son, Kintaro. He thought Genki was hurting Kintaro, just my opinion.

Momo does feel as though he should get everything including the attention. He didn't have a father to raise him so it's like Momo treats Genki as one of the boys and his agression towards Genki is happening more often. She cowers when he enters the room with Genki and caregiver's but the dirty look he gave her gave her as he took all her food with him. He's starting to become mentality unstable , hitting any three for no reason that I can see. .

That's a great idea! Momotaro is uncharacteristically rough and aggressive with his troop. Genki hasn't looked healthy at all this year. The stress and physical rough-housing is wearing her down. I hope next year goes better for her.

I know 2 growing boys can be a handful but it's time Momo takes Kintaro over his knee a few times! That little monster is getting everyone in trouble with Momo. I watch 3 different gorilla families and the other males don't hurt their wives like Momo does. He needs to keep his teeth and big gorilla hands off his lady. Genki is the best mother gorilla to those boys and they don't let her rest. I feel so bad for her!

Momo lets Kintaro get away with way more than Gentaro and that creates a huge problem. Probably why Gentaro is so scared of Momo and Kintaro's isn't very scared of Momo's authority.

前に何度か東山動物園でもこのような光景を見た事があります。 その時はシャバーニが発情期でネネさんに襲い掛かったようで、ブチギレた家族全員から追いかけられていました。 リーダーゆえの縄張り意識や男性ホルモンの所為か、シルバーバックはそのような行動を割とよく取るようです。 この家族をよく知る皆さんが仰っている通り、モモタロウは怒る理由がズレている事が多いです。 かと言ってゲンキさんを引き離す理由にはなりませんし、動物園もゲンタロウやキンタロウが自立できるようサブグラウンドに遊具を設置したり計画を立てて一生懸命フォローしてます。 あまり騒ぎすぎないように。 そして今日ゴリさんいつもありがとう🙇‍♀️

I've said this before but I'll say it again. She needs to be moved in with Rola. She's too old for this stuff. Silverbacks often discipline troop members when they think they are fighting and Momo already doesn't seem to care much for her since he allows Gentaro to beat on her so move her out and let the boys beat on eachother.

これはあくまで個人的な考えですが、人間の概念で動物達の行動を当てはめる事は的外れに思いますね〜 色んな方のゴリラの動画を拝見してきました。それを踏まえると、上野のハオコさん、東山のシャバ兄さんも子供達が幼かった頃、ネネやモモコがちょっかいかけてくる子達に対して軽く反撃してると、トォリャ〜って感じでオカンに突撃して、エラい怒ってましたし。シルバーバックは基本的に子供を守る事が多い(ベビちゃんシグナル効果)モモタロウも本能的に飛びかかったと思いますしね。まぁ、人間の概念から見てたら、ゲンキは踏んだり蹴ったり😂やけどね。サブグランドできたら、恐らく⁉︎ゲン&キンでバチェラー暮らしするとかなんかな〜？したら、ゲンキはコミュ力不足のモモタロウと2人暮らしするんかな〜？ ゴリラの社会はシルバーバックの判断で行動するもんやし、モモタロウ君も一緒懸命！勘違いしながらも成長してると私は個人的に思いました。おかしゃんの怪我が大した事無くて良かった。ゲンタロウを上回る、ヤンチャ👑キンタロウにおかしゃん、暫くは大変やろね😅

Obviously, Genki is a sweet, fun-loving mother to her 2 sons Kintaro & Gentaro. Unfortunately, Genki is a victim of domestic violence. Momotaro, the father of her sons repeatedly attacks Genki for no reason at all. Since King Momotaro is never punishment, he continues to bully, bite & humiliate poor Genki. Now, in gorillas, health check-ups are very common, but within the first two years of life, if this custom continues beyond this time, they can become a routine that lowers anxiety, for example to genki the food or to gentaro suck the finger.

You are right, i have notice with orangutangs , gorillas, chimps bother their mothers normally till 3_4 then i think they learn to control urges or learn to look after themselves but Kintaro has always been relentless and hounded her multiple times a day and now he is worse and she is trying to avoid him. With them feeding her like this is only putting her in harms way. Momo is not going to have it go on like this for very long. If he attacks her for this it could be really bad. That is not right. If they are feeding her to see the wounds then they should have had her put her arm in the test tube to evaluate her arm. Eventually a fight could be fatal. Thats scary to think about. 23:31 Momo came in and when he turned around to leave he gave her a sturn look. That is s red flag..... Not good and those keepers should have realized the warning look. There is no good answer for Genki. If they segregate her she will be lonely and if they leave with the rest of the troop she will have a miserable rest her life left. I think everyone would rather not see her beat up on constantly by the other three. Zoo keepers need to make a decision on her or her time will be a lot less having to fend off attacks constantly!

I just finished watching this video and I am shocked , Kintaro's behavior towards his mom and brother . His behavior continues to escalate and I really wonder why the zookeepers are not doing something about this. Kintaro attacks his mom over and over she disciplines him but as usual he does not stop. Then the dad attacks mom because of Kintaro, then he actually comes to her looking all sad when he was the cause of the attack. He is a bully that gets away with way too much, Kintaro's aggressive behavior needs to be addressed, he needs to be taught Zookeepers where are you!!!!!!!!

Genki's wounded hand and head, etc needs to be treated by the keepers. They gave her extra food then Momo took most of it; she's given a few more green leaves, but were they even paying attention to her being attacked and hurt. The indoor "cage' they're in is not clean , and Genki is already suffering from infection and another face abscess; an open wound is opportunity for another infection her immune system can not deal with.

Genii is in distress and she is afraid of Momontaro. She is trying to teach Kintaro independence from her. To eat on his own and no more breastfeeding. Kintaro is a spoiled little gorilla who is used to being doted on is relentlessly bugging his mother. She may be pregnant as well.
