When I placed the strandula for some reason it didn't make the string to go up

That happens. You just weren't in the exact location to place it to go up. It could have been just a TINY C.H. of space away. It's frustrating as that's happened to me several times. I just move a tiny bit and BAM, there it goes. it's so very picky! I'm sure you got it tho.

I’m out of healing and energy elixirs, I made it drop the blue orb from it’s back many times but how much I attack the orb when it’s on the ground doesn’t matter, orb returns to it’s back. I think it’s a terrible bug. Giving me headache for the past half an hour Edit: I reloaded it from last save, changed my equipment from higher jumping to defensive trinket and I managed to kill it this time. It was a weird bug

How do you start this quest? Darston is not in that cave nor do the old gorons have quest marker above their head. I've beaten the temple already

I started it by talking to Gol inside the entrance to Goron City. He had a red quest marker above his head, so maybe you haven't progressed far enough in the game yet to activate it. I'm not sure what exact criteria needs to be met though.

I think you need to complete some other quests first. Try doing the Dampe and fireworks quests.
