I’ve sat on numerous juries. I’ve performed as the jury foreman at least twice. I was assaulted by a drunk driver years ago and got to see the process from the other side. I will NEVER sit on another jury again. Jurors are fed the information that the system wants you fed, and you’re expected to come up with a life-changing decision from it…not from the whole story. From my assault? Defendant perjured himself to the point that he was chastised by the judge after the jury(that he and his attorney lied to)was excused after finding him not guilty, so they couldn’t hear it. The justice system is an absolute joke that benefits criminals and casts the rest of us aside.

Hopefully my email request for further instructions is answered A trial to convict governor Pritzker would be a nice followup to the Madigan corruption trial but I'd much rather see him hauled away by federal agents rather than risk a trial in corrupt illinois

@@carlbenson6474not necessarily true. An option is to post what amounts to a bond with state for each firearm. If insurance isn’t available, that would force firearm owners to transfer a tremendous amount of money to the state. I’m sure they would keep it safe in an account and not misuse it. Can you say Social Security?

​@carlbenson6474 wrong. The insurance required in that bill is not self defense insurance. It's pay the other person damages insurance. They don't care about your need to defend yourself in court. They believe your behavior is dangerous and the rest of the world needs protected from you. That bill won't change the inability to get self defense insurance. I'll take this time to plug attorneys on retainer. That company is allowed here. It's not insurance. It's prepaid legal service. They can't drop you at all for any reason because you have a contract binding them as your lawyer.

Try attorneys on retainer. They cover you in WA state and they basically provide the same service that right to bear does but it's not an insurance company, you're paying a lawfirm for a retainer in the event of a self defense scenario

The service offered by the folks in this video is a "self-defense" insurance that would cover your court costs if you had to protect yourself with force. Different things. you need to remember, this is a new industry and not many options were as available as now and the first models still shaped to the old school insurance models, you all know how that can go. so what's the surprise / rage? and lawyers could always drop clients no matter the area of law involved. up the the Customer to choose the correct one for them.

Go with a law firm, not an insurance company. If you lose your trial even though you're innocent because you live in an anti gun state and were tried in an anti gun court with an anti gun judge, jury, and prosecutor, insurance companies are required by law to drop you and demand reimbursement because they can't cover you for criminal acts. You'll be on your own now. A law firm will be there with you through the appeals process.

EXACTLY! This is the issue of the whole debate. People who support AOR cannot accept that Giles was clearly guilty and AOR is just trying to take advantage of people not reading the court documents to sell their service by scaring USCCA members that their legitimate self defense case will be dropped when USCCA hasn't really ever done that. Meanwhile a lot of the negatives AOR says about USCCA and other carry insurance providers is also true. USCCA's insurance provider had to drop Giles when the mountain of evidence against her came out in discovery because otherwise when she was inevitably convicted, they would get in trouble for insuring criminal acts and because they saw the discovery, can't argue they didn't know and would have zero defense against such charges. ANY company would have done the same. That is the reality. AOR even requires you acted in "good faith self defense" which they get to define and make the final decision on too. Much like the insurance companies. None of these companies want to help a murder because it would be very bad legally and PR wise for them so NONE of them are going to wait until the trial is over to make that decision. It's as simple as that. Neither side are the "good guys" they are just businesses competing for your money. Instead of picking teams in a fit of tribalism people need to think for themselves and if they choose to buy a product like this do a lot of their own research into what the products claim to offer, the applicable laws, how the companies in question have administered and provided the product in the past ect. Not just listen to KZbin shills trying to sell you something.
