Then there’s KH Recoded that was on a portable system and gave you the option to choose a close or far camera AND a follow or no follow camera whenever you wanted. Yet another reason Recoded is actually good outside of the story.

I kind of hope someone creates a BBS mod that improves the Young Xehanort fight in a way that makes it more enjoyable and actually makes you use everything in your arsenal. Idk if I'll get criticism for that. But just using Thunder Surge spam and the fact the AI detects which abilities are equipped in certain positions on your actions commands isn't great design...

-clears throat- Ackshully... It's great design on paper. This mimicks the idea of MF reacting to what your deck is. Which gives a human element to the ai. However, when in action, it's terrible. This is because when you take human elements and thought processes, but then have it act like an ai with inhuman reaction time and movement... That's when you end up with bad game design. Sadly they did exactly that. Such a bad boss.

@@blackghostcat I completely agree with you! It's a great thought out idea for the fight but it's just terrible when executed. I'm genuinely hoping someone can come up with a new fight structure for Young Xehanort that's challenging, fun, but still acts as YX would perform in a fight.

you can actually do this on consoles and psp if u use the quake ability outside of battle and enter the menus (pause) as the rocks come up. I found out when the psp version was out cause I really wanted to find a way to back the camera up. the only thing is u gotta do it every-time u enter an area if i remember correctly

I think the reason they changed the camera distance on DDD but not Birth by Sleep it's because the rooms in DDD are massive but the ones in Birth by Sleep are a lot smaller, thus not much need for zoomed-out camera

There are some large rooms in BBS such as outdoor areas like in Neverland and a couple of rooms in castles, but the rooms that are small are REALLY small. For example the hallway to Cinderella's castle is really narrow, Yen Sid's room isn't really spacy (it feels weird in DDD with the zoomed out camera, suprisingly not KH2 though), and the dwarves' cottage is cramped. The camera would be pretty rough in those types of areas. Yen Sid's room is the smallest one in DDD and it feels weird with DDD's camera. Doesn't make either inherently bad but just a difference in design philosophy and hardware limitations.

I actually would prefer if Kingdom Hearts had a camera toggle setting by like pressing R3 or something and it would alternate between the zoomed in perspective like KH1 and zoomed out perspective like KH3. Best of both worlds.

I'm glad to see this mod appearing! The camera not being altered was a really bad point for me on the HD Remake, as the character that close is just, quite ugly on a big screen for me. Just screams portable game quickly ported on console. As for why it was corrected on DDD HD... I'm guessing it's being for 2.5, KH II FM+ was the main attraction, and so got the most attention while BBS was nearly a bonus? While for 2.8, DDD was the main attraction, and so got the most attention ported, while 0.2 was the bonus demo. ... At least I guess that was the logic behind it, because I see no reasons why one got the treatement and not the other.

I actually tried doing that when I played the game on PS4, just saving and loading the individual save files after a world and referencing the in-game timeline to try to go in order, and it was a cool experience for the most part.

Fun fact to those who are new to Kingdom Hearts. This used to be a PSP game. No joke. And Dream Drop Distance used to be a 3DS game. Difference is controls. And improved graphics for KH DDD. I also hope we get new mods for Dream Drop Distance too. :)

I think another good mod would be implementing the command buffering/command queueing that was shown in an earlier build/trailer of BBS. This could fix the issue that commands have in the game where using a command and using the next one has a significant delay in the middle and could decide whether you get bodied in the next few seconds. It could also make way for more command combinations and smoother gameplay imo.

So this is why birth by sleep on ps3 and ps4 always felt so off to me! It was made for the psp and it’s honestly my favourite version of the game too. It seriously was on another level at the time it came out and I can’t wait to re-experience it again one day like I did base kh1 and kh2 for ps2. Final mix versions ain’t got nothing on them for the most part!

I am not a fan of Kingdoms Hearts 3 and the Mobile games, while I like how the Mobile game wrapped up the story, it shouldn't have, Kingdom Hearts 3, while people loved the Luxu reveal I felt it took the wind out of Xehanort as a villain, the Luxu reveal should have happened later, the MoM scene should have happened later. I feel that the Mechanics in KH 3 were lacking. The Mods in my opinion are the fans saying "we can do it better and here is the proof."

What's the effect of the camera when you look at the edges of the screen? Objects are stretched by some reason. Most games do have this effect as well, KH3 for example.

field of view? the higher the fov, the more the world will look like that. i assume the camera mod is just altering the fov instead of simply altering camera distance.

when i play khbbs on computer i have some glitch character move right left as i walk forward which makes it look awful distracts me. for the first hours of the game the error did not occur, it started after an enchanted dominion when we play Terra and has remained so until now. the new game does not change anything the character still moves in such a strange way. has anyone had such a problem, know the solution?

BBS finally playable? But in all seriousness the camera in bbs was the main reason I heavily disliked the game (enough for me to consider it the worst game at least in the ps4 collections) so maybe when I get a good enough pc to run Kingdom Hearts I'll give BBS another try with this camera mod.
