@@karolealbach1305 I’ve been doing the protective daytime and nighttime hair styles. It’s very helpful. I use a silk head wrap and pillowcase at night. I still haven’t found a clay that works for my fine, dry, curly hair but I’ll keep trying. I also use the coconut and Castro oils which are very helpful. I also do her dry finger detangling and dry brushing. Scalp massage (when I remember) and I also stopped using a blow dryer (and curling iron 75% less). I’m also mindful to not touch my hair as often

It's not surprising that many of the same people who are drawn to vintage sewing and vintage hair care would be interested in a channel about living a busy family life with a traditional, naturally-oriented way of doing things! In fact, I think people crave all of these sorts of things in a world that's become far too automated and depersonalized. This is living life from the heart! Thank you for sharing all that you do, and will share ❤

Your first hair-care video came up as a recommendation, and since I have been struggling to grow my back out again after a prolonged period of severe anemia, it was a perfect fit. That being said, I have enjoyed going back and looking at your sewing content, and think that a video highlighting traditional family life would be very beautiful-- I come from a large, homeschooling family, with a stay at home mom, and it was the most wonderful way to grow up. Take care of yourself and the wee baby.

I love your sewing content! If you need to make a separate channel for sewing so that the algorithm doesn’t penalize you, then go for it. I’ll subscribe. Just announce the channel name so I can find it. I’m happy with you putting out sewing videos according to your schedule. So even if it’s just once a year, I’ll be thankful for your time and effort. Your sewing content is very informative and I learn a bunch from it. Actually, you’re the one that convinced me to attempt to sew my own bra! It was your entire video essay that convinced me to venture forth. So know that you’ve made positive changes in the lives of those of us with rare sizes. I never thought my sewing journey would include lingerie-a vintage bra being my first attempt, of all things. But at least now I’m not dependent on some ridiculously expensive boutique with limited options and a so-so fit that could be discontinued.

Me, too! I had given up on ever having a bra that fits, but after watching Katherine's bullet bra video, I tried to make that bra, couldn't get the cups to fit me, and did a deep dive into bra fitting issues. Now, my latest bra mock-up (entirely self-drafted) fits me better than any bra I've ever owned! It still needs some changes, and I've got to figure out how to transfer the changes I made in my mock-up to the next version of my paper pattern, but I am getting there! I look forward to a future where I never have to wear a bra that is simultaneously too small in one place, and too big in another, again!

The thing that appeals to me most about this channel is that it shows practical applications of wisdom from history. Our ancestors were very wise and we have much to learn from them. You have taken that knowledge as it relates to clothing and hair and made it do-able. Of course, our ancestors also educated their children at home, tended babies, and kept their families fed and clothed and their households running through thick and thin. So while I will subscribe to your new channel, I would suggest just combining the two and renaming this to something that more accurately reflects broader content. I homeschooled my kids from birth through high school and would not trade that for the world. Keep up the good work there and, as you have time, I look forward to seeing what you produce here. 😊💛

I liked your hair videos and even if I'm not a mom I also watched your post partum belly binding video and found that very useful too. I dont sew. I think you're super talented but I can see why this topic (sewing) is rather niche. May I suggest to use the big channel for hair care, self care AND family life. And the smaller channel for sewing? And make sure to mention the sewing channel in each video to promote it. Because family life is a topic that many people can relate to. You are very knowledgeable and I'm sure you can share valuable insights about how to manage a family. Because there is only so much you can say about hair. After a while you will probably get bored. But there is so much to say about family life. Education, cosmetics for children, nutrition etc. Many people would be happy to be inspired by you. Family life is not a nieche topic like sewing. I suggest making one video on hair care for kids. One on cosmetics for kids. One on which products - if any - you use for your baby. These could also go viral in my opinion.

just so you know, your original haircare videos actually caused me to check out your channel (also cause youre canadian!) and totally launched me on a historical fashion binge...like. hard. Your channel launched me into a whole new obsession, as well as haircare tips! I think the haircare stuff is more easily shareable, since I have sent it to a whole bunch of friends, but not everyone sews, so maybe thats why. The algorithm has been showing me a lot of the hair care videos, but I'm actually interested in the sewing more now since ive already applied some of the tips into my routine! I hope the videos even out soon, but I also get not wanting to be pigeonholed which is why i made my own generic channel as well XD I've definitely been interested in other parenting /family videos since im thinking towards the future of how i want to raise my kids, and cant wait to see what you have to say! Glad to hear you're recovering well :)

I found you because of your original hair video which literally revolutionized my life. My hair has gone from just over chin length in November 2022 to Bra strap length thanks to you! I too have always wanted long hair but with super fine and fragile hair it just wouldn't seem to ever gain length. Now that I understand better how to care for my hair, I have longer hair than I've ever had in my life and it's becoming healthier at the roots. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing what you've learned. I subscribed because of the sewing content - I lean a lot more toward traditional methods and types of sewing just as you do though I'm not quite brave enough to try making a corset yet. Congratulations and blessings to you and your family!

Congrats ! It was your hair care vid that entered my feed and seriously reawakened my passion for hair care. I am using it w my girls. 11 twins and they are loving it and loving your long hair. I think your idea for you new channel sounds awesome and is much the kind of mom I am except I have to work a lot. I am so glad you are getting your dreams ! I support your channel. I do want to begin sewing my own clothes. I am very interested and more ideas of how to use corsets or stays and more history bounding fashion that can give my older body body comfort support and a pretty shape. I am really leaning into how generations past made clothes look good on their bodies INSTEAD of how we seem to try to make our bodies look good for the clothes. It’s simply not working and so many women are stuck w clothes that just don’t work for our body over 50 or any body that is not essentially almost a skinny male. If that is inspiring to you I think there is a space for a serious fashion revolution with hair, skin make up and clothes that is ripe. It is not my niche but I see it and want it for myself. Wishing you well. Btw your make up looked stunning ! Not that you needed it ❤.

Hi Katherine! I'm a new subscriber of yours and just finished watching your latest video (on channel updates). I have a couple of thoughts and feedback. Firstly, I think one of the reasons people like me are attracted to your channel is because of your maternal energy. You give of a very calming and soothing energy and I think people feel safe around you. I think based on today's standards that you live an alternative life of some sorts- you are an almost full time mom, you embrace tradition and natural remedies. I believe the reasons why people resonated with your hair videos is because they are more applicable. I think sewing for me is to much of a task to take on, but hair care is something everybody does. I would love to encourage you to maye branch out into sharing other more applicable ways that you do thing differently than today's norm particularly with cooking, your beliefs on materials in clothing, natural cleaning diy products and above all else I'd love if one day you'd share your motherly knowledge and I apologize if that sounds weird. All of your hair videos filled in something that I never had with my mom I don't know how to descride it. So maybe it's worth giving a shot to some Q&As related to femininity, ancient views of female qualities, herbal properties of tea, natural remedies, healing practices. I hope you managed to find my message. Lastly, I'd like to thank you for the amazing hair videos. I just feel the positive intentions and knowledge you have through the screen and I've started putting into practice so many things you mentioned (boar bristles brush, oiling hair, vinegar washes, finger detailing). Thank you so so much. I wish nothing but the best to you and your family and congratulations for your new child♡!

Your instructions has changed my life. My hair an issue with blessings but dry flyaway: catches electricity in doesn't like the wind: hats pop off my head. Now compliments: confidence I can handle hair needs: also allergy to chlorine and all products except herbal. Its growing so long thick soft manageable . Etc. TY do much. Home full of beautiful oils wash hair every 3 weeks: so much relief times I rinse with herbs we quick rinse wash. Just as good. I have stations where I brush with boar brushes and enjoy the time I brush 100 times but don't count: twice a day for soothing effects and cleaning. Learned how to wash the brushes recently. Hair care enjoying rather than dread like before Kathrine! Hair styles come naturally organic the way my hair lays after brushing and free of taught hair scrunchies. Most times now no hair ties. ♥

I think the life channel is a good idea. Others offer with great tips including canning and bread or pastry baking. Some have fresh produce and eggs at their doorstep. In regards to sewing. Its an added bonus over hair to me. Making patterns is a key factor and years ago I had too so we had period clothing. The shoes are back in style too and you can imagine trying to find tutorials to repair or make. I was drawn to your channel with hair care. My daughter and I turned to more natural options before finding your video. With much breakage and loss, it was just time to return to basics. I am inching my way to 10 months without a trim because my ends just dont need it. It takes some connection to the process to know what your hair needs. Since my texture is practically identical to your I hope to glean and compare for a better outcome. You will find your path and what makes you the happiest.

I gave myself a pixie cut and thought I was doomed to keep it that way. Thanks to following your advice, my bare patches are filling in, my natural curls have a more consistent look (instead of some straight strands prompting me to always apply heat to straighten), I can go 2 or more weeks between washings, and my length is more or less to my chin. I'm looking forward to having the long, thick hair I've always wanted. Thank you!💜 Congrats on the success of your channel! It's very well deserved!🥳

No wonder you have to prioritise- I was faintly bummed that you were posting less sewing videos, but I also tended to be more likely to watch the hair videos right away now because hair solutions are more of an emergency for me right now. It's a shame KZbin's algorithm will demote a channel for posting some videos that don't do well, but what can be done about it? I'm glad you're going to do more lifestyle stuff because I was wondering even just how you manage doing the normal life stuff while doing hair care and sewing of the sort you do. You're doing/into similar things to what I am, and managing my time and figuring out how to be motivated to get through the more mundane tasks and still have mental energy for the interesting ones is something I'm really trying to figure out now. I really wish I was taught more skills as a girl when my brain was such a literal sponge.

I hadn't even finished watching this video, Katherine, and had to comment! I am riveted, and thrilled with where you are going! I shall definitely be subscribing to your new channel and really look forward to your content on there. Your life is so interesting and exciting! Like others, I came across you through your first hair video, and quite frankly I have to say that it sparked something big for me, and in the six months since I've completely altered my hair "care" routine (it really wasn't that "care"-ful then lol!) my hair has been transformed! I have had to adapt a lot of things because my hair is thin and fine but without your help I would still have bald patches and poor hair. I am so delighted about the new arrival in your family, and I think you are amazing, doing all the things you do, when you now have a family of five to look after as well as your husband! You are looking so well, and I am so glad that you have had the opportunity for proper rest after your daughter's birth. The old methods have so much to commend them, don't they. So much better to be as natural as possible with all life's natural processes! It's great news how successful your KZbin venture has been. You deserve it. This kind of content is so encouraging, uplifting in the midst of so much bad news globally, and life-changing for people and I am sure everyone will agree that we all feel part of your wider KZbin family now. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing you on your new channel as well as this one!

The video I would most love to see you make, is one about how to draft a pattern in one's size, such as your Regency Dress From 1805. I would love to make that! But I didn't get enough info in the video to be able to draft the pattern in my own size. The first video I watched on your channel was the 1950s bullet bra. I printed out the pattern and was able to make the bra frame in my size, but not the cups. Your video did, however, launch me into figuring out how to draft and sew my own bra, and I'm currently working on figuring out how to transfer changes made through draping (fitting to the body,) to my paper pattern for my next mock-up! I think that both of these are great ideas for future videos. Scaling up a pattern in a book, and making modifications for it to fit the body, and how to make changes to your pattern based on changes you made to your mock-up for a better fit. Perhaps part of a series on how to sew historically? I also love your hair care videos and I've tried several things from your videos on my own hair (with plans to try several others). Some of it did not work out for my hair, but other things have been helpful. My hair is fine and wavy and tailbone length, with some areas that have great big spirals at the ends, so it's not the same texture and the curl falls out very easily (even under its own weight, or the weight of conditioner). The curl actually completely disappears (except sometimes at the ends) every time I brush my hair, but it always comes back. It has been really interesting to learn what you're doing to take care of your hair, and figuring out what will also work for me. I hope that one day, my channel will also be a success. Mine is original music, written and produced by me, but I've thought about adding historical sewing, too. In fact, I can envision a future in which I have a historical sewing channel backed by my original music! Your channel is proof that you CAN make one channel about two things!

Please do a video about your eyebrow regrowth journey- I can see, in earlier pictures of you, that that is also a choice that you made. I just turned 60 and decided about a year ago to start regrowing my brows (because the alternative is a very expensive brow lift!). My brows were growing back really well by simply moisturizing them every night with L’Occitane cream, but when I used micellaire water to remove my makeup over the course of a couple of months I realized that I was getting bald spots where there had previously not been a problem with sparsity! So I would love for you to talk about that… Love your videos, great information, and Canadian accent!

I'm a hair video convert as well. My hair has always been dry and scraggly, but it's been even worse since I had my son. My mom had cut about 6 inches of it for me, but I really didn't like it being so short. I think I've regained about 4 inches in the last two months!

This is a wonderful idea, and I will go subscribe. I've started a channel, and I talk about different things. Your hair video is the reason I subscribed at first, but I also like your other videos as well. Like the corset making. This spring I sewed a couple of skirts, one from your video, and thank you for that. Then I made a blouse and a few bloomers.😊

You know I'm interested in both subjects, I'm excited to see the content on your new channel, I think we have most of those topics in common, too. 😅 Really excited to see some of the cooking videos, and any sewing that happens to make it's way to either channel. You have a VERY full plate, and I think this was inevitable, and is a good way to prioritize what is best for your family and income, while still allowing yourself to go with the flow a bit!

I found you from your hair video! Really enjoy the hair content! Looking forward to the other one too. I am also a homeschooling mom to five as well.

Firstly, Father thank you for the recent arrival of a beautiful baby daughter. I support your Hair and Sewing content Katherine. My hair has never been healthier (dry detangling, rhassoul clay wash and acv rinse for the win!) and i would rather make and mend my own clothes these days.

Let us know if you do a separate sewing channel, because I LOVE your videos! I found your channel when I was researching belly binding. I'd love to know more about what type of diapers you use etc. I'll have to check out your new channel. Thanks for faithfully filming good stuff!

Haiiii, so thankful for your hair videos. I am also appreciative of your sewing videos. I am a very beginner sewer and trying to get into sewing (with a new sewing machineee, woo!) l. But it is a little daunting.. I am so glad that you will continue with both and i cant wait to see your videos on cooking! I am trying to get into cooking more as well. Lol ❤ thank you for all that you do. Your video editing skills are amazing! 🎉

I love all things natural living so I like different options on 1 channel so you can easily find them all. I found you because of hair care but it makes me interested in making clothes and other things you have on here!

I'm curious about the other things you have to share so I am excited about your second channel. I love costuming and would gladly watch a third channel just for that. Maybe vlog style sewing videos could work for the sewing projects you feel aren't "interesting" enough to have its own sew along style video. If you do make a new channel for sewing I'd love to see the sewing vids from this channel reposted over there

Yes resting postpartum is very important. Baby's sleep almost continually for 6 months other than for feeding and changing. Use that time to also rest if you can typically babies will sleep for 4 hours wake up to be changed or fed and sleep again. Let them sleep, this is very important for baby, for their well-being and growth.

I see you as the brand so I feel like Sewing, historical hair care, natural motherhood, remedies etc all works together over time if you double down on just being you in one place. Just a thought.

Congratulations, your baby is so sweet. One day you'll have to tell us the secret how to rest after birth as a mum of 5, homeschooling etc.😂 In general, it sounds like you are doing what feels right and I am excited to hear about the other things you mentioned. To be honest I got to your channel because of the hair care, but I watched most of your sewing videos, got inspired for maternity clothing, learned a lot about nutrition and pregnancy. Don't let yourself get pushed around by the stupid algorithm. People who like your content and have subcribed will follow your videos and share them anyway, simply because they are good😊 So I'll head over to your other channel and subscribe right away😊

Yes two different tano's would be in my opinion better but I'm not a KZbinr I enjoy the hair videos because I'm actually 37 years Master Barber and so you can say I'm very passionate about hair care and I have done all the things that you have done I did lots of research because my industry is always growing but it's very refreshing to see somebody of like you.

I think I found you though your sewing videos, and I would definitely still love to see more of those if and when you have time, but I have really enjoyed your hair care content as well. You made a boar bristle brush convert out of me. 😅 If I could make one suggestion about your hair care videos, I would say maybe try to make them a bit more concise and a bit shorter? I love watching them, but I'm a busy mom as well, and I find that when they are 45 minutes to an hour, I can't always get to all of the video in a timely manner. Thank you for all your hard work on your videos and congratulations on your newest babe! ❤

I love your videos especially on hair growth. I was wondering if you could do some historical moisturizers for the face and body because I would be interested in using some but don’t know how to begin. Thank you for all you do.

So I literally just found your channel this week. Through the curly hair videos. I had tried bbb and not shampooing in the past and your videos have reinspired me to try again! I was also excited to look at your sewing videos since I just started my sewing journey. I’m so happy to support you in this new journey of yours, especially learning how much we align. I am excited for all the homeschooling, natural care, homemaking videos! All of it!

I found you because of your sewing and shoe making (it is unique & relatable) I was hoping you would continue the shoe making (there isn't that much on KZbin, on this subject). Not really interested in the hair thing but not opposed to your output on the channel on the subject but probably drop the channel if it goes over to it completely. I would be disappointed if you, like others fall down that rabbit-hole of "pleasing for subscribing" you see it a lot these days and the content just ends up being trash as it takes a nose dive, losing the creative process. Understand you wanting to diversify your content to stay relevant and be interesting for you to make but just remember you have a following that enjoy your creations. It has value. Ps i have subscribed to the new channel and are interested in how that progresses.

Thank you for all the content you provide to us as viewers!! 🥰. I just finished doing my hair care routine with the rhassoul clay and AS vinegar rinse, when I saw your video come up. I’ve seen such an improvement in my hair health!!! I do have a question for you though. When I first started washing my hair like this, it seemed like I had much more dandruff than I had even had. I do alternate with my natural shampoo. I have less dandruff now, but I still have some. I go about a week between hair washing, so I wondered if it’s just the natural process of my scalp sloughing skin cells? Any experience with this for yourself or your viewers? Thank you 😊

Thank you so much! Your hair care things really helped me to put together some oils and herbs to help me recover my lost length from lack of knowing on how to care for the ends, which simply turned to dust over a really drippy cold winter.

💖 all the love Hopefully it goes well! Your story happen to one of my friend. She was doing gameplay… then her viewer asked her to « react » to content… those reaction became super viral… and the gameplay became pointless. It was sad. So… maybe dont try reaction too 😅 if you dont wanna mess up how the algorithme see you again!
