G'day Cameron, 1 - Brake fluid is flammible. It's based on a hydrocarbon. 2 - Don't use impact or power tools on banjo bolts. Banjo bolts have a hole that passes across the bolt, which weakens it. They're easy to twist or break. 3 - The safest way to get pistons out of a caliper is to pump them out with the master cylinder. Compressed air usually forces the pistons out too harshly, & can potentially damage the pistons or injur fingers etc. 4 - Do not wash brake parts in mineral based fluids. The fluid will soak into the cast parts, causing the rubber seals to swell & deteriorate.

You have to heat up levers before bending them like that or they’ll snap every time
@1suzukiryder3 жыл бұрын
I couldn’t help but laugh when that lever snapped.
@think2cre813 жыл бұрын
Hey buddy , great video . I learned a trick a long time ago about straightening up levers . Use oxygen and acetylene torch but instead of a clean flame, make the flame black and smokey . And run the smokey flame over the lever for a little while. And the aluminum will look all black and sooty . But it does something to to molecules in the aluminum and it becomes malleable for a little while . Once in this condition you could lay it on a table and take a rubber mallet and tap it into shape slowly. I have done it sence I was 12 years old and I'm 63 today . I even did on on my old 1972 Honda sl70 that was completely curled around on the end more than 180 degrees. For that one I used a vice and a 3/4" black pipe nipple to fit over the lever ball and slowly began to uncurl it . I had to heat it with the sooty flame a few times but was able to uncurl it and then placed it on a flat surface and made it exactly like it was from factory. Using the clutch lever as a template. So I believe I was 14 or 15 when I made that repair. I was surprised myself that it worked because everyone told me it was impossible. Those same people started coming to me with their bent levers lol .
@coconutcreampie37953 жыл бұрын
This makes sense. I think you are annealing it with the sooty flame.

A tip for the master cap bolt if they don’t come out when you try the torques bit you can always use a little bit bigger drillbit and drill the top of the bolt off and then you can on thread the rest after you get the bolt off

When bending aluminium it should be heated up until soap on it turns black and then left to slowly cool down until cold. It will stay soft and annealed for about a day.
@coconutcreampie37953 жыл бұрын
Wow, for a full day. Interesting.
@alexcatto14323 жыл бұрын
Mortland Pandy It stays soft for a day or two and hardens more over time. It takes a about a few months to fully harden, but it hardens quickly for a few days and then hardening slows down a little. So its logarithmic, which is opposite of exponential.

If I had to answer this I'd say get down to business at early age and just start trying to learn an remember everything you see and hear especially aswekk through KZbin

Dude I’ve been working on cars since i was 12, now I’m 17 and I can rebuild engines and do super advanced work on cars like timing belts. Just start watching KZbin videos about cars and buying books on how to work on cars. Get an old beater and do all the work on it it ever needs. Experience is the best thing you can have so the earlier you get projects and start wrenching the faster and better you’ll get.

What’s in there now still from the 125: 32.5 idle, 500main and 43.7 needle. What the manual said should be in there from a 150 coming out the factory 30 idle, 470main and 42.7 needle, Would it be safe to make that change.
