Brought tears to my eyes. The most beautiful version of this amazing, deep and insightful song. August & Everything After is the story of my adult life. It saved my life, I was at my end. I am eternally grateful❤❤❤

Absolutely. Well said. This song still brings me to tears in the most perfectly imperfect way possible.

I jumped on the CC band wagon VERY early in their career. I heard them on a late night radio station just prior to August and everything afters release and went to my local music store which specialized in cd's at a great price not long after they came into existence. And the owner couldn't find anything on them and he took my number and a few days later he called and said he found what I was looking for. I was thrilled and listened to it relentlessly. When they came to Indianapolis the Wall Flowers opened for them and put on one hell of a show and the CC came out and said they was going to do a acoustic show in preparation of kicking of their big tour. It was a great show dont get me wrong but it was a bit of a let me for me as I wanted to see them rock out. But they are one of my top 5 all time acts and I am 50 years old now. That was 1997 I believe and I was 30.

Even if they are touring with other bands and only doing one set they are still good. CC sounds good in the studio and sound good live and thrive on changing things up from each show to another.

I will never stop being amazed how they reinvent their songs. Each version is beautiful in it's own way and, in a sense, holds a different feeling/meaning. An absolutely brilliant band!

This version came on the radio at work. One of my exes from long ago adored Counting Crows. Thought about her a lot lately. Hope you’re doing well in life, D.

I should note that "Carving Out Our Names" is not a "bootleg" in the sense that it's illegal. It's sold in stores (last time I was in one). It wasn't produced by the band themselves, but they have a very permissive attitude towards recordings.
