The root of reggaeton...Steely & Clevie - Fish Market Riddim. The end. Dancehall music is the root for damn near every genre to come out in the latter part.of the last century, including hiphop and reggaeton

Gotta appreciate the balance, how each sound bounces off another when the artist is creating his sound.

Reggaeton began in Panama from Jamaican descendants in Panama. The forerunner was El General and was dancehall in Spanish. Puerto Rican artistes made money off it and PRETEND that they started it. It's roots DANCEHALL, just like Afrobeats.

Puerto Ricans don't think they invented Reggaeton everyone knows it started in Paname con El General. Puerto Ricans like Tego and Daddy Yankee defenitely popularized it and took it worldwide in the early 2000s especially with the Luni Tunes production

@@heaterparker Yh not all of you know that. I've seen enough of you commenting online to know that belief exists. Just like how some Africans deny that Afrobeats evolved out of dancehall despite it being clear as day that it did.

@@michaelmaxwell2464 the correct term is (and should be) NaijaPop. Afrobeats is a term that the UK Media gave because they love to put all African music in a box. NaijaPop is Nigerian Bubblegum while the REAL Afrobeat was Funk music from Nigeria.
