I agree with the fact it should also support long term storage. It looks like you could just put a piece of tape over the bottom fan and top holes. I might 3D print some sort of tpu flap you can open and close and glue it to the bottom.

I already designed some plugs for the assess holes and plate for the top. It is working pretty well so far.
