Definitely would be better to use a food processor. Even for camping just use a manual cord version as it's still easier.

this thing is a P.O.S. If you have no knife skills or no decent knife, well, maybe OK. It doesn't chop uniformly, is messy to empty and clean up, has too small a capacity for most uses I might have. My advice: avoid.
