I'm 67 and I've always loved burgundy; it brightens me up, and I've bought several pieces this fall. For many years I dressed boho with lots of patterns. It no longer attracts me. Over the last year or two I've been drawn to basics and quiet luxury. I invest more money in individual pieces than I ever have and avoid synthetic fabrics. My favorite brand is Frank and Eileen, and I always feel wonderful when I wear them.

I think the only two trends I would do, in actuality, are a bit of the red and the quiet luxury. I love small pops of red and I like burgundy too. Classic and quiet luxury with its minimalism and slightly preppy leaning vibe is more my style. Plus it’s mostly natural fibers, which I’m converting my closet over to (getting the polyester out!). I will never do peplum, because it reminds me of pregnancy tops and I’m short waisted. I will never do the shoulder pads because I have strong big shoulders already!

I'm always wearing Burgundy in Fall/winter, so hooray its trending. I look good in red, but it is a powerful vibration, so don't wear it often, I have a red purse and slingback flats I will wear (until the snow makes it impossible.) I love polka-dots too no matter the trend and have a nice A-line midi navy skirt with small white polka-dots, I can wear -with the red slingback flats! I will skip the power suits as I WFH. Your gorgeous jacket is a yellow-based orange-red and I love it and could even give it a try. The tweed blazer in raspberry is a beautiful blue-based red, so I am putting that on my buy list. I’ve rocked white shirt and black tie with black velvet vest, suspenders, black tailored pants and black jacket almost every as I call it, Fine Friday at work, since the last two years! ☺️I’ll keep on rockin’ it! Sometimes I vary with tomato 🍅 red tailored pants and Hermes’ inspired blouse with chain and reins print with red in it. Pinstriped jacket like the one you showed is also in use together with the red pants, then with a pinstriped camisol with tiny ladybugs 🐞 all over! 🤭 Thank you for the update! For cropped lengths, you want to go for a length right at or just above the ankle bone for the most flattering length. As for full length, flares or wide leg silhouettes, you generally want it to be 1/2"-3/4" off of the ground with the shoe height that you want to wear them with. So glad you love these trends too! Great idea - natural fabrics (cotton, linen, wool) are what I do try to find first. Lyocell (aka Tencel - brand name for the fabric) feels great, super soft... and you can find it sustainably made quite often, though the process of creating it does take a lot of water.
