Haha, your myrtle warbler gave me flashbacks to one of my megas, a Cretzschmar´s Bunting (I live in Sweden). It could only be seen from a window in the kitchen of the woman that discovered it, it was on her feeder. It was 24:th of december 2018 (so christmas morning) when I arrived there. The queue in to her house in Skutskär was nothing other than ridiculous. She had removed every furniture from the room to get more people in, except for a table at the back of the room that people could stand on to see over the crowd. When I finally got in, it was more packed than a rock concert. The bird was there for quite some days, around 2000 people went to Gudrun Öhmans house to see it. She made a small fortune from the birders. Think most gave like 10-15 dollars as a thank you for her hospitality

Leg ring on that Hawfinch at 14:40. I wonder where it was ringed? Spring migrants are starting to arrive now. I saw a small group of Firecrest in south Devon on the weekend that must have recently arrived. Lifer for me.

Already 140 out of 240 in March... looks like the target will be reached in July... what does your experience say?

We are running out of winter birds, we have got loads of the resident birds already, so now it slows down. We are relying on spring migrants and rarities. We may pick up a small amount of winter birds we have missed in November and december. It is by no means "in the bag". Keep watching us to see what happens! we do appreciate your support.
