Yes yes yes! Love this. I do these stretches with my horse fairly often. Belly lifts and butt scratches. His bodyworker comments on how strong his back (well technically his core) is every time she comes out. I don't even ride him that often, but I do lots of in-hand work and liberty horsemanship.

**Top Marks for YOU** In hand work is super good too. Ps your name makes me giggle every time you comment. 🤣

I do lots of carrot stretches and belly lifts already, but didn’t know about that spot on their bums. 43 years owning horses and still lots to learn…

I think we could all read every book on the market, spend every day learning... and still there'd be so much to learn!

Hello! I found your channel yesterday, and i loooove it! Ive seen about 10 videos, and i have Learned sooo much🙏🏻 can you mayby view the Premier equine saddels (dressage) and the acavallo may saddel (the ones you can adjust the “tree” by your own😍🙏🏻

The “core” (which is actually a made up term which originally came from human physio) involves more than just the abdominals (of which there are four). The spine is actually supported by a muscle called multifidus, and there are a number of papers which have investigated the effect of a specific routine of dynamic mobilisation exercises (aka carrot stretches) that build this muscle. This is what supports the spinal column. When you elicit the myotactic reflexes such as the pelvic tuck, you are also engaging some of the sublumbar muscles as well. It’s not as simple as just the abdominals 😊

Yes… admittedly this is a very over simplified video - I just want people to understand why I tell them how important it is to get those ab groups active - it also make a big difference to where the girth sits. Which is a whole different video… you can pretty much change the natural girth placement which can help with saddles moving forward too :)

Hi, i have a question. I asked my saddle fitter if i could use a half pad (gel with a fur edge) on my saddle. He said that it is compleytly fine and it wont affect the way my saddle fits. This was because my horse isn’t quite narrow he said. Is this true? And can i use the shock absorbing half pad without doubting of it will harm my horse? My saddle was fitted to my horse with out a half pad but i really like the look of it and thats why i asked it.

Sway back is caused by stretched ligaments, not muscles.

Hello Poppy, I hope you're having a great day! I have a question about treeless saddles, in particular this one that is made differently from most I've seen so far: www.ebay.com/itm/264790275040 If there is no tree, how does the saddle distribute the weight of the rider? I have a very broad-shouldered horse who has practically no withers, and I'm trying to find a saddle that would fit her. So far nothing has!

You find a saddle maker and measure your horse and have saddle made for your horse. Dont buy used saddle.

@@vonderloo3184 She’s too young to get a custom made saddle (she’s going to be 4 in January), because she still has a lot of developing to go through. Thanks though!
