This feels kind of like "tell me the tale of Perseus, but without telling me it's Greek mythology".

My guess is that some dude heard the story of Perseus in Greek mythology and liked it and wanted to retell it, but either he was christian or people in his community were, and didn't take kindly to "Gods" being mentioned that weren't their own beloved one, so they changed the story to remove any references to gods.

Please do more mythological stories, I really love them. FYI the “old times” were ruled by the primordials before the Titans took over. (Edit) I recommend a really old story, the epic of Gilgamesh.

I'm so glad this exists. I love the sound of low and quiet voices but all I usually can find is whispering, which is kind of grating on my ears. Also, bedtime story

My first thought with the situation went to JoJo, hearing you mention it too made me laugh. I'd love to hear mythology tales read in this style as well if that's something you'd consider doing.

I like the Hercules similarities in this story with the grey sisters/women and the eye and the boy having to prove himself.

14:18 the vanishing thing in itself is very classical - in epic poetry (especially the Odyssey because there are so many interaction between gods and mortals) the gods will often vanish "like a [insert bird here]"

Have you considered putting these on Spotify as a podcast? It would be great to be able to listen on something other than KZbin.

I’ve actually read this before. I remember it was a two in one book, and the other story had been about the Minotaur. >< there was a reason why they were put together I suppose.

Mythilogy Hermes: brings a pair of shoes specificaly for Perseus since he has more them one pair Fairytale Hermes: *takes shoes of* My guess is that fairytale Athena didn't plan it and just decided to see if she had any mortal brothers, found one in need, taked Hermes by the arm and ignored his questions until they were there. Them she talked about impulsivity and Hermes send her the look. Perseu was too busy being offended by being called a coward so he didn't notice.

I *was* about to point out the similarities to the myth of Perseus; but since other viewers have that covered... 🙂

Isn't this the story of Perseus, who was born to Danaë after she was impregnated by Zeus? Mythology often grows out of folk tales, so the line is certainly thin.
