I had the same experience in the RAF. I was a corporal and another corporal borrowed a pound which then began the circulation: borrow on Friday, pay back on payday. Eventually I got fed up with this and next time he wanted his weekly pound my response was: here you are: keep it, f... o.. and don't come back again.
