I took my wife to the Grand Canyon for our Honeymoon. Among other things we did there, we experienced a 45-minute Helicopter journey around the rim. During the flight I took a picture of her and captured a smile and a look of awesomeness on her face. It's the best picture I have of her.

Nice views and weather! I believe the last time I was at the North Rim it was full of smoke due to a wildfire and we decided to leave instead of breathing smoke! Those steaks looked awfully good! I'll have to research those Air Fryers. One of my dreams is to hike across the Grand Canyon from the North Rim to the South Rim before I die! I'm retired now so I hope to do it soon one day.

I worked at North Rim Lodge for four summers during my high school and college years back in the 60's. I hiked all the trails multiple times. I hiked from the North Rim to South Rim the summer of '63, a trip I will never forget. Then in 2018 my daughter and I took a river trip through the canyon from Lee's Ferry to the end of the canyon where we helicoptered out to a dude ranch and then flew back to Lee's Ferry. That is really the capstone of Grand Canyon sight-seeing. It is fairly expensive but well worth it. The camping by the river was primitive but Arizona River Runners fed us as well as I have eaten on a cruise ship. Kat, you really should put that river trip on your bucket list. You will never forget it.

I think you have “evolved” into the best RVing combination - a simple travel trailer big enough even for two people and fairly easy to tow and park, plus the ability to disconnect and take the truck wherever and whenever.

Your scrambled eggs and bacon breakfast had me drooling. I haven't had any bacon and eggs for several years due to some dietary restrictions I have to follow. I hiked to the bottom of the canyon as a child with my family in the mid 70s. Easy going down, but pretty tough hiking back out. I still remember how beautiful the scenery was.

I just love the North Rim! We have visited Kanab frequently because of a guide friend that lives there plus it’s a good base for day hiking in the area, Zion and Bryce. Because of being there, we will do a day to the North Rim. In 2013, our young adult daughter was with us and we wanted to take her to the North Rim. Prior to arrival, the government shutdown of 2013 started! We spent a day in St. George visiting Snow Canyon. Then on to Kanab to meet up with our guide and do other fun stuff and when we registered at the motel, they had a sign that informed us that the North Rim was opened. We went the next day and were one of very few people there! We felt like we had it to ourselves! We sat on the “back deck” of the lodge and enjoyed complimentary hot chocolate. It was wonderful. Your video brought back those memories!! I’m glad you got such a secluded campsite and enjoyed your day there!

I visited the US a few times and got to the Grand Canyon two times. Unfortunately i didn’t have my own car, and the group i travelled with ended up at the South rim. It was super crowded and not very enjoyable, but the views were still amazing. Still sorry that I didn’t do a hike there, but there was not nearly enough time and I suffer from a bad case of ‘height fright’ 🤣🤣. Walmart was always amazing to us coming from the Netherlands. You don’t have a store like that over here.

I've been to the area around Jacob Lake a couple of times to hunt elk. One winter my hunting buddy and I stayed at the hotel at the Jacob Lake Inn because it was winter and very cold, and we didn't have warm RVs to sleep in. The other time was during warmer weather, and I camped in several different locations. I love the area and hope to get back there in 2024.

It looked like a fun short adventure...those are nice. Its interesting how you can find free campsites that are much better than those you've paid good money for 🤔 Thanks for sharing those views...Florida views just go from green to brown in fall...but has not snowed since I have lived here.

Camping on the North Rim is one of my bucket list items. I’d love to watch the sun set over the canyon from my campsite. @Catherine Gregory, you’re challenging me to stretch my bounds re: camping without hookups and I’m loving it. I have a 200W panel and a power station with a 30A plug to power my travel trailer. Only the 12V refrigerator, lights, tank heaters and water pump are dependent on battery power. This all works brilliantly when I have sun. When you off-grid in a spot like this one in Kebab NP that is very much tree-covered, how do you manage power? Do you strictly conserve? Do you often need to connect to your truck to feed the system a bit (my truck does not, but Im assuming your truck does)? I don’t like them, yet I still have one as last resort backup, … a generator. Do you ever use one? It isn’t the point of your channel, but I’d very much appreciate hearing some of the strategies you’ve learned.
