Hello, thanks for the video. I have a doubt, how is that the deep brearthing may not be suitable for people with ansiexity or panic attacks? I thought it was indicated for that cases actually. Thank you.

I think it might cause some people to freak out. It can be uncomfortable when you’re new to it. For example, I don’t find 4-7-8 breathing very helpful currently. Something about the pattern or the rigidity just doesn’t seem to resonate well with me. I do find cyclic sighing and Wim Hof breathing helpful, however.

What if anxiety causes you to periodically hold your breath, breathe outward, and breathe in a way that's not natural? Thanks I know you mentioned holding breath but I'm not sure it's exactly the same issue. This is something I control, knowing it's not normal
@KillAllCommies2 Жыл бұрын
You can train your breathing to become deeper and more natural. I recommend reading "Heart Breath Mind" from Leah Lagos. Resonant breathing is excellent against anxiety in general.

Why is she saying two things that oppose each other. She said deep breathing activates para-sympathic nervous system which calms our mind. Then she said its not for people with anxiety and panic attacks. It doesnt make any sense .. can someone please explain? What she is trying to convey?
@piazeppei89924 ай бұрын
It’s more because it can make them feel uncomfortable, it does calm the nervous system but I was suffering from panic attacks myself and I was panicking when I wanted to do meditations or breath work. I can’t really tell why. I would suggest something for your body first like Yoga staying connected with breath while movement is happening. And than short sequences of breathing. Best with counting so you can focus on counting. Anxiety is something nervous so you would need to meet yourself where your at . Don’t do deep relaxation when your completly nervous. Prepare yourself for it with movement first, than do breath work, once your nervous system is in rest and digest do meditation. Def read about yoga philosophy as that’s basically it!
