There's a similar room tour video shot years ago that's gotten 848,000 views. That sounds encouraging and most comments are positive but I think some people viewed it for the same reason they watch plane crash videos.
Some of the comments express a variety of emotions including outrage at the cost of the equipment that they think might be better spent feeding the poor, or claiming that none of this makes a sonic difference (especially cables, which make a big difference) and some expressing various anti-semitic tropes and the like, or the usual "snake oil" comments, etc.
So enjoy (or not)!

My father was had an overtly large record collection. While he was still alive, I asked him what was going to happen to all his collection when he died. He got a twinkle in his eye and told me he wanted all of his colored vinyl and picture discs to be melted into a big coffin for himself. He was smiling almost laughing by then. He then told me he wanted Mauler's unfinished symphony to be played at his funeral. I wasn't able to accomplish that either. I got his guitars and my sister ended up with his records with the intent to sell them. I will own his guitars until my last breath out of respect. Oh he also told me if he sat down and tried to listen non-stop to all of his records he couldn't do it. He would probably die first. He still kept buying records anyway. I now have a large collection myself and am "trying" to slow down my spending on them. More trying to listen and enjoy what I have. I've started fixing cassette decks/turntables for a hobby also as a hack. Life is good.

@@robertjdejong it's definitely addictive and if you have compulsive tendencies, that trigger will be repeated over and over. I guess it's like...buy something, but... do you play it? or is it just a possession? Do you ever listen to it? If not...why do you need it in the first place?

We went one step further in our 1956 ranch (downsizing for retirement). We also had an overhead line but buried it. So we have new copper wire from the pole into the house into a new AC panel. From there new wiring out to the dedicated listening room my lovely wife agreed to. The original recording quality and the power you provide to your system is where it all starts.

Dear Michael.!Thank you.!I looked carefully at how your hand behaves at the exit to the output track and made sure that I was setting up anti-skating correctly. This is the first and the second-thank you for meeting great musicians. And the third-the cartridge, in my opinion, has a structurally golden mean and sounds good in both versions. At least I don't hear a cardinal difference in headphones. Thanks again!Health and well-being to you.!

Respect due my man ! I am glad chaps like you can acquire such great gear and are able to show us plebs the perceived limits of analogue . We are all really lucky all around Michael !

Mikey is by far the best and most authoritative commentator on analogue audio equipment and has been for many, many years. Well, Stereophile's loss is the The Absolute Sound's gain. I am torn between laughing and crying when I hear someone rabbiting on about proceedures such as replacing copper with aluminum mains supply wiring having any relationship to what is percived eminating from one's sound system. Furthermore, the electronic signals concerned in playing a vinyl disc are not in the least affected by the amount of money paid for a turntable. As long a turntable spins at the correct speed with no discernable wow, flutter or rumble, it will do the same job as any alternative unit, regardless of price. I would advise anyone who claims otherwise to attempt a blindfold A/B comparison.

I came to watch because I had a feeling Mike's reference amp might be by Dartzeel. But because it's Fremer I thought I'd start at the top. Right decision. Great walk-through of his listening space and reference system with the added bonus of selected records shown often with stories attached that are interesting as the music itself. The Brian Wilson story is pure gold. I've never met Mike but I was so interested in the many aspects he addressed and his own work with several productions. I'd love to meet him, grad a brew and a "hoagie" then retreat to his listening room where I could actually hear just how great the medium of vinyl can be as well as share our mutual love of the most important thing, the music.

Michael, what a great and inspiring video! What impressed me most was listening to your recording with your in-ear-microphones - I rarely had anything on my little monitors sound so great before! You'll be surprized when I tell you that my system is just a regular Windows PC, internal audio engine bypassed by the SW VoiceMeeter, cheap USB-cable to an even cheaper years-old Alesis USB-Mixer, and from there into a cheap set of Yamaha near field monitor speakers - and it blew me off my seat. So, there must be something happening in your setup that creates that great sound - probably the vinyl and your great room setup.

Wow, I bought that Tron album and loved Only Solutions. I was enrolled at LTU in Southfield MI taking a semester of Partial Differential Equations and for the final I listened to the song and bonged, until I wasn't sure where I was or what I was, but in that state of consciousness, the Equations spoke to me, and I did really well. Also bought that Queen I, LP when it first came out too. really enjoyed their first two albums, but a night at the opera, which I also bought just turned me off. You have assembled what can only be described as a Laboratory of the most esoteric hardware to extract the nth degree of information out of the LP, and then amplify and transduce back into mechanical energy, Sound. What a joy to behold. I really love observing your explanation for the motivations behind the Material Science and Engineering that the Manufacturers have taken, to raise the bar for the state of the art. LASER sintering for the 3-D printing of the tone arm and Carbon crystal growth for the cantilever/stylus just blows my mind. I remember when the soviets claimed in the early 80's that they had grown Diamond and no one, but the Japanese, believed them and they replicated the soviet's empiricism. BTW that turntable employing magnetic field, B, manipulation to alter the sound quality, over the top.- Thanks

But also like 8 headphone amps in a few hundred square feet. Ground loops are starting to become an issue and serious wiring is something I want to do while I'm youngish (mid 30s).
