A NEW Audiophile and Competitive Gaming IEM - Kiwi Ears Ke4 vs Simgot Supermix 4

The midrange is so broad, almost all instruments and vocals have their fundamentals there, so it's worth going into a bit more detail I have the SM4, and have demoed the KE4 (so judge accordingly). For the midrange: KE4 was thicker on male vocals, which felt weighty until they blend with the bass sometimes and then just sounds too much. KE4 had very natural timbre on acoustic guitar, strings and piano. SM4 is slightly thin on male vocals and emphatic on female vocals (this is the 3k sheen people talk about, to me it was okay, others may find it shouty). Strings sometimes feel sharp on SM4, and the acoustic guitar feels overly metallic at times

You're probably the first reviewer I've seen that prefers harman IEM (not over ear, as that ones diff.) over the new meta. Also I'm curious why audiophile just dont use DSP/PEQ. Instead of having like 10 iems and wasting all this money. manufacturers should just release like "advisory peq" for those iems, or reviewers could do that. If the hardware can do better, just use all the technology available to do so - it's not 1960 anymore, we have computers the size of a fingernail, use the power of 21st century guys. Then I'd like to actually see which one's better when all of them are tuned to their max potential.

in the end you are judging by the iem and implementation. The Kiwi Ears Ke4 1-3k is definitely relaxed in regards to even the “new meta” so it’s not a perfect representation of it so that is a factor. I think there’s various people on either sides who support either or. Lots of iem come out with dsp cable and same companies making wireless dsp tuned iem too

if you just eq more treble for ke4 or more mids for sm4 would it make one of these two a better iem for you ?

Do the kiwi ears (Ke4 & quintet) have reverse polarity or is it normal. Iirc the SM4 is reversed, but unsure about the kiwi ears

imaging of both are good but ke4 tuning helps you hear footsteps a lot easier

@@ryanhostudio does the KE4 get fatiguing while gaming? That's a problem especially with loud gunshots in FPS games
