I'm looking for a small form factor amplifier with a built in DAC to be used with a computer streaming Tidal Hifi. So the budget is approx $500 and I would like as good sound quality as possible. Any recommendations?

Good review. Ibwas wondering if you see these as a clear upgrade to the 560S? I like the sound of the Meze 109 Pro, but can't stretch to that this year. The 660S2 i think sounds a little narrow in soundstage in comparison to Meze. Would the FT 1 Pro be a solid competitor to 660S2?
@ryanhostudio3 күн бұрын
@@amaury1264 honestly the ft1 pro is more tuned like the meze 109 pro if anything and cheaper version of that. The 560s and 660s2 are more full in upper midrange so vocals sound like they have more body and full to it. Different tuning but technically on par if not more superior to sennheiser because of planar driver advantage

Would you say the ft5 are worth 250€ more? I mostly play cinematic games and listen to bass heavy stuff, with a side of neoclassical music(mostly piano and violines as instruments). That driver made me think of the Ultrasone headphones with their s-logic, where it looks like parts of the driver are damped [to create bass I guess?].
@ryanhostudio3 күн бұрын
i think s logic is more of a soundstage and timing effect. The one in fostex is more airflow, a lot of headphones use foams to achieve this, sennheiser does the same with hd58x and other series ones
