I have an old SN30 pro. The one with no grips. I really love it and the whole point of me getting it was that it's fits in my Satisfye case. Having a controller with all four trigger buttons and joysticks on the go is great. I already have Switch Pro controllers so I can't see myself getting this but it really does look like a great controller.

Waking up the switch is something I need. One thing I love about my gamecube controller from power A is it's licensed by Nintendo maybe if 8BitDo had a small partnership with Nintendo, we could finally have that their controllers wake the switch up

I can attest- this thing is a perfect controller period- that d pad is absolutely perfect esp for retro games. Then the analog sticks are just as good for what they do. Absolutely A++ 100% on this controller.

8bitdo is all hype. After buying their products I'm done with them. Laggy, stick drift, and long triggers. I was excited to get them but had nothing but issues with all mine for Switch, PC, Steam, and everything else.

@AnimicsYT mines only happen if I tried to reconnect to the switch after plugging the controller to the pc / connecting to pc via Bluetooth. It took a bit of time to return its normal response state when I reconnect to the switch. Seems that the controller need to “adapt/get used” to a new device”. Solution, avoid Bluetooth connection with multiple devices too frequent. Disclaimer : Yes it’s the 8bitdo’s fault for the poor connection, I’m not justifying their flaws, just merely suggesting a temporary solution.

Long triggers isn't a problem because you can easily change the registration point in the trigger travel in the software. I use my Pro+ on PC with Steam and haven't had any issues with lag. Edit: I haven't had stick drift either. Perhaps try increasing the dead zone in the software.

Whoa! I'd never even noticed that before. It looks like they originally did that so that the start/select buttons were equally spaced between the D-pad's right arrow and the Y-button.

this might be a little nitpicky and I don't know if anyone else shares this issue, but the left stick on my 8BitDo Pro Plus controller senses direction a little tilted. when pointing it perfectly upwards, it goes a little to the left, it isn't Drift because it doesn't do it unpredictably, but its a bit weird when using it after another controller without that quirk.

The extra back buttons with mappable buttons and an on-controller profile switch is reeeeeeeally appealing to me. Would make gunning in MHGU able to feel comparable to current gen Monster Hunter. Might actually go back and finish it up. Also, using an app to configure buttons while in game makes getting your settings that much closer to perfect. Definitely gonna pick one up when I can (especially when i go back to the aforementioned MHGU)

Once i tried the switch pro Even the dualshock 4 isnt that hot for me anymore ZR and ZL buttons on it are sooo nice in games like bayonetta 2 it felt like magic It felt like nostalgia xbox 360 days in particualr And the long battery life is just icing on the cake now Nintendo really nailed this one y’all

one thing im waiting for is for their phone holders to be upgraded to allow slightly larger phones, so many phones are just a little bigger then when they originally designed their accessory phone holder, and now a days if i want to use my phone i have to remove it from the case to fit it inside the holder, that and id love to see 8bitdo do a phone controller that fits the phone in the middle!

Didn't have one so got a black one (on order), the device switch on the back versus the button combo on start up and the textured back and the extra buffing AND the centred start select for essentially no increase in cost makes this an absolutely no brainer

That sounds like a good buy. I’m already using two pro controllers and alternate when one of the batteries die. I just want a controller with a good life span. Bells and whistles are cool but they don’t really sway me into getting one. Good review all the same.

As I already have an SN30 Pro the only thing that would have made me upgrade would have been a wake button or like function on the controller. I like the idea of the back buttons but I don't think those and the app are enough right now.

@Ace Anime That's literally just the grey edition that they are already selling for the Pro 2. The only difference is the face buttons are slightly different in color, and also different in shape, which I already called out in the OP. I really think it to be a bit snobbish to call it "missing a version" when really it's just the 4 buttons. 2 of which just being only having a single issue of just the coloring they used for their plastic. I get that your trying to say that we are saying the same thing here, but all you are doing is coming off (even if not intentionally so) as if you were trying to correct me by means of being more technical which only results in being more vague with what the actual issue really is. By that, I means your message is done in a way that acts as reverse-clarification. Taking focus away from the issue rather than narrowing the focus precisely towards it in a way that's self explanatory. I didn't even know this was coming out, I am definitely going to swoop one! Is the connectivity any better now? I've had 3 Pro+ and all of them had trouble connecting to the Switch from time to time. Sometimes it would require multiple tries to get it to connect.

I know nobody asked or cares, but I got my Pro 2 and I absolutely love it. The buttons sit a tiny bit higher than the older ones and it feels great. That tiny revision they made to the shell feels great. The texture is also awesome. Hands down my favorite controller for Mario Maker.

My SN30 pro has too much input lag, even after all the firmware updates. Unless they've fixed the input lag, no amount of upgrades make it worth it.

I didn't even make it a full minute into the video before something caught my eye. Did you score the buttons on your Pro+'s for extra grip? I know at least in the Guitar world, people will score their Picks for extra grip so they don't slip out of their hand when playing, but I never saw someone scoring the buttons on their controllers.

I'm thinking about picking one up if I can also get the new phone mount. I have the original SN30 Pro and I really like it's portability. I 3D printed a "pro" style grip that it can slide into and it works very well. I just wish the phone mount didnt suck so much.
