I loved using this Bible Reading plan for 2019. I was able to keep up every day with a few exceptions when I had eye surgery. Thank you for the suggestion for writing in a journal each night. I started out strong with that, but then started writing notes in the margins of my wide margin Bible instead. As another commentator did, I exchanged ribbons for the bookmarks. I intended to use a Chronological Bible to read in 2020, but didn't want to stop with Professor Horner's plan. Today I had a wonderful idea-- combine the two! I taped tabs at Genesis, David killing Goliath, the first Isaiah entry, the birth of Jesus, and after His resurrection. The sections are intentionally not equally spaced, but I will have the most repetitions in the Gospels as I want for the upcoming year.

I started Grant Horner’s plan a month ago... it’s been a challenge but a good one. Thankfully there are now Bible Apps that help you keep the readings straight - rather than tabs, etc. It is a complicated system but very diverse. I have my Bibles in the Olive Tree app and it offers many Bible reading plans, as well as Grant Horner’s. I guess you could use the app to keep your reading place even if you read a physical Bible. Good, bad or indifferent I have changed to a digital Bible which offers as many translations and study aids at you would want.

I’ve done the Horner plan before and just re-started it two weeks ago. I really enjoy this plan. I’m using a ESV Schuyler Quentel for it.

@@LindaFromMySelfCareStudio I use a small notbook and write down what I read for that day. I don't use any bookmark.

Yes, I agree with you about many Bibles being printed these days on overly-thin paper such that the printing shows through to the page printed on the back of it. I'm currently looking for one with a high-quality leather cover, printed on a thicker high quality paper, one center column of Scripture with wide margins along both sides as well as on the top and bottom. Large "comfort print" if possible, either NKJV or NASB translation. No commentary, notes or any other printing other than the Scripture itself. But so far I haven't been able to find one of these, and am not even sure such has ever been printed. As far as Dr. Grant Horner's system, I'm totally new to it, having just learned about it only a few days ago. I'm doing it, but am experimenting with how many total chapters a day I read. Ten chapters daily from various areas of Scripture is very comprehensive, I agree. But to me seems a bit overly intense, such that you may end up focusing more on the goal of covering ten chapters a day than focusing on WHAT you're reading, and how to APPLY it to your life, which seems to me should really be the end result you are seeking to accomplish. If you cut the original schedule in half, and read only FIVE chapters a day, it'll take you just over one year to read through the Bible. Cut it down even more by only reading TWO chapters a day and it'll take you a little over two years to finish. Read just ONE chapter a day and you'll finish in a little over five years. All this just to say that Dr. Horner's system can be customized to your preferences, lifestyle and specific goals in reading Scripture. Also, I'm planning on building rest weeks into the reading schedule, intended to keep me from getting "reading fatigue" such that I just give up the system altogether. All along the way I'll listen to what my experience is teaching me, and adjust and re-customize accordingly. Also, here's a link to a PDF of a book written that quickly explains Dr. Horner's system, and it mentions that it's fine to adjust the system according to one's needs. You can read either more or less than the prescribed ten chapters a day. grant-horner-bible-reading-plan-pdf.weebly.com/uploads/4/5/9/7/45977741/learnyourbible3rdeditionpdf.pdf

Hello from the UK. This is a really good reading plan... I’ve been using M'Cheyne's yearly plan for some time now but this year, I decided to go with a change. You mention the idea of writing a sentence or two in a journal, which is a good idea... do you know about the very useful book that Mr Marcel Teleki has produced to help with this reading plan. It's actually an inexpensive journal that helps keep track of your place... it’s called - Learn your bible: A workbook for reading the Bible. May God bless your online ministry.

Can you give me a new web site for the tabs, thank you.

Professor Grant Horner has an app for iPhone that you can read off the daily lists if you don’t want to use an actual Bible in print and use the markers on it. Very easy to use. I hope this helps someone. 😎

Thanks for the video, I saw this bible reading plan on another site. I really would like to try it. The down load on your site to get the markers won't print for me.

Church Bible Publishers (CBP) Note Taker's Bible (KJV) is a great Bible for note taking and has no references. The font is, I believe, 10 point font. Also, RL Allan's Longprimer is 10/11 point font, baut double column. Of course, KJV again. CBP has a Turqouis edition that is 11 point font. Lots of options.

Hello! Would you be able to tell me where I can obtain the reading plan that has Acts, Romans, and Hebrews bundled together? I cannot find it, and I would prefer not to have to manually recreate the wheel if this should exist. :D Thanks much!
