Hello. Your son’s witness of you being a loving husband, father and kindness to others will speak volumes to him. Watching this family day/day speaks loudly to all of us regarding you and your wife’s parenting skills. 💯✔️

Hello from Tucson. Arizona. My husband and I found your channel about 3 weeks ago an have been watching all your past episodes for the last two years, starting with the purchase of your land in Idaho. You and your family are so amazing and we are so thrilled to see how you have built everything from your tiny home, pump house, critter habitats to your forever dream home. Both of you show so much love, commitment and compassion for everything you do, from home schooling all your children to building your beautiful home all on your own with no real experience is amazing. I love your relationship with each other which reminds me so much of the relationship my husband and I have and we will have been married for 55 years in April. Thank you also for your compassion and devotion for families and children who so desperately need help. I look forward to watching all the many projects yet to come. Thank you so much for sharing your lives with us. I know it is not easy to produce your videos, but the quality and photography is stunning. One of the very special parts of your videos is Melisa’s very philosophical closing comments! Thank you, Sharon

One parenting thing I would like to share that I have witnessed. My sons dad was very mechanically inclined and could build anything like Jeremy can but the one thing he lacked at was patience when teaching my son all those things. He could just do it faster so he would just take the tools out of my sons hands. Be patient, let him take his time and let him fail, and then let him the correct his mistake. There are different ways of doing things to accomplish the same goal. Let him find his way and his confidence will grow immensely.

My daughter was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer at 18, the Doctors believed she had it since she was maybe 8 years old. It was slow growing and never picked up on physical exams. The Doctors had no reasons, but I attributed it to the long hot showers she always took and the Radon was coming in through the water. She was the only one in the family that always took real long hot showers. She is 43 now and Cancer Free.

Your son falling asleep in the truck made me laugh. When mine was that age, didn't matter where or what time we got in the car, he was out like a light within 15 minutes of the drive! Thank you for taking the time to explain why it is so important to spend time with our children, teens in particular. They need good role models to learn the basics of manhood - be ready to take responsibility for yourself, treat others with respect, what it means to be a man and to be a great husband and wonderful father. For girls, I know from experience that a father's respect and love is what they need the most to be able to navigate the dating game. I didn't have a girl but from working with teen girls over the years, it has taught me at least that much. By the time teens hit 12 and 13, they need good role models. Both you and Melissa are doing a great job!!!

You are both such an incredible blessing to your children in everyway. My Mom spent a lot of time with my sister and I she taught us how to be mothers, how to run and keep a home, how to cook, do laundry, manage food/groceries and plan for meals with a budget. She taught us how to go thru our closests at the beginning of each season and make lists of what we needed and move out what didn't fit any longer. She taught us to give to those who had less than we did, and we didn't have much. She taught us to read and to be independent thinkers. Our Dad, due to working away a great deal of my childhood didn't have a lot of time with me as a child. God gave me an opportunity to get to know my father in a much different way when he called me and asked to come live with me while he waited to have a lung transplant (COPD , 40 years of smoking). I left home when I was 15, so I had not lived with my Father in a very long time. I lived on the other side of the Country and was 31 when he came to live with me. I became his soul care provider he was extremely ill and frail and at end of life stage when he was put on the transplant list. After 2 months he was given a second chance at life. Then came the grueling rehab which he wasn't anticipating and was extremely angry about (hed been in a wheel chair for about 6 years and didn't really understand that even with new lungs his legs would need rehab to work again). There was a lot of living that went on in those months, we came to know each other as adults and he shared many things with me I never knew about him, God gave me a blessings by allowing me to be in a place in my life and career where I could spend a great deal of time with my Dad and support him physically, emotionally and spiritually through the last phase of his life. Sadly, he was not able to truly commit to all the requirements of being a translated person. In retrospect he was never really a very good candidate for a transplant. My Dad was a very smart man, while he only went to grade 8 he was a self taught mechanic could drive/operate anything that had wheels or treads, and break it down and put it back together again. He drove the largest of equipment in the woods of Vancouver to the snowplows in New Brunswick, but he didn't have that something that was required to be your own health advocate, to take your temperatures daily (or multiple times a day) take his 25 perscribed medicines ( needed to stay alive) keep them on time, not mixed up, eat regularly and most importantly to continue to exercise the new lungs. Long hours spend in deep depression lying down caused fluid to build on the lungs over and over again. He was air lifted back to the transplant hospital 3 times and then back to live with me again for a few months, then back to his home many 1000's of miles away. Despite many tears and begging he wouldn't just live with me permanently and sadly succumbed to his illness a few months later and passed away 6 months before he turned 65. When I see how you are both so involved in your children's lives on the one hand it makes me sad that I didn't have a Dad who spent really any time with me or my sister as children, I am then reminded of the huge blessings we were both given with a Mom who worked double time to provide us with the skills we would need to be loving Mothers and wives and independent working women. God intervened and gave me a 2nd chance with my Dad and I will forever be grateful for that time with him. Many of us have messy relationships with our parents and sometimes when I look at this incredibly loving and STABLE family unit, I feel a pang of self pity...but, as fleeting as that is I am also then reminded of the many blessings I DID have as a child and then as an adult child with both my parents. I am now my Mom's health advocate and last year she was severely over medicated while in hospital for a a very serious blood infection. I also live very far from her as well, but I listened to my instincts and was able to peice clues together and figured out they had made several mistakes on her meds and she was being extremely over medicated and was being kept in a state of delirium because of it, I intervened and was able to get several of the meds stopped, she quickly gained her cognitive abilities bak. I'd be faced again telling a parent they had to go to rehab and once again, I was on the receiving end of a very tired and frightened parent who had to let their anger and fear out somewhere. After a lot of talk she went to rehab and made an amazing recovery. It has been my honour to help both my Dad now my Mom with their health and whatever else comes up. I share my story in case anyone else watching might feel a little like I do sometimes..and think, wow, what would life had been like with two incredible attentive parents, and then I push those crazy thoughts aside, and replace them with gratitude for what I did have versus pinning for something I didn't have. I am so grateful to have found your channel and to be a part of your incredible journey, you are doing so much with this channel, more than you can likely ever know.

Great advice for raising kids. Every child is different but the same, growing up in the same household. It is so important to know what their wants, needs and expectations for their lives are. You are doing a terrific job of dialing in to the kids. They are wonderful children. Yes there are things that are behind the scenes that you address, but you can see their personalities on here and they are well behaved and adorable children. Hats off to you both. You are great parents. Lol I always say "kids do not come with a set of blueprints". Would be nice though. Would take out all the guess work in raising them. But where is the fun in that!

Haha, I'm really interested watching this. About a year ago, I drove to Canada for business. They let me in without much problem. But I got detained coming back to the USA 🇺🇸 because I did not have a passport. It took about 45 minutes sitting in the building while they verified my identity. Shortly after that, I got a passport! 😆 😜

So it's a pain to get into the US for citizens....

@@jenniferrescott1149 amazing, right? I guess it was good that they checked because people could have a fake driver's license, but it should be standard criteria for everyone. 🤪

It all depends on who you run into... n how bored they are.. they took my cousins car apart once before thought he was smuggling drugs lol usually we got welcome back home but we lived right across the border basically so they didn't keep us much I think once they individually questioned us kids separate about where we went n what we did n what we wore bringing back... that was when we lived in California n used to go there for the summer so back in like 1990s. My passport expired n so did my kids so maybe I should renew then for the summer so easy thru... but in past we went without passports no problems

@@katya03316 Yes, I knew lots of people who would regularly go in the 90s with only a license and birth certificate, so i thought it would be ok. Especially because i got into Canada relatively easily. I think entry into the US got stricter after 911, though. I just didn't realize it. I'm fine with it 😀

I sure wish, when I was your age (okay, maybe a little younger! LOL!), that I had built my home from the ground up like you guys did. Every time I go to make any simple repair or just maintenance, it just turns into a major project due to the shoddy repairs and total lack of maintenance done by prior owners. But, just gritting my teeth, smiling through it, and trying not to teach anyone new "words" should they happen to be listening! I grew up in a construction family so I guess maybe the "do it right, do it once" motto is deeply ingrained. Watching you build your home(s) there are times I may have done things differently, but for two people who have never built a house before you folks sure have done a great job!

I just want to say you both are such great parents and you have raised amazing children. You can see the love that Jeremy has for Kimani and it is so cool to see. It must be such a proud moment to be able to teach your son what it is to be a successful man and how to succeed in life. You two are an example of what great parents look like!

Don't get too used to teasing your son about being short. My oldest grew 3 inches in ONE summer between 8th grade and his freshman year in high school. Then, by the time he graduated, he was 6'8"...from 5'8" to 6'8 between 8th grade and high school graduation. You're right at the end of his "kid-ness". Enjoy it. ♥

I sure relate with Niveha and the gluten free stuff...everytime we do something special or go out... I usually can't get what I would like...but whatever is available that I can have

Me too. I'm also dairy free, so it's even more difficult. and sometimes upsetting that I cannot eat what everyone else is.

How did Jeremy learn to be all the things he wants his children to be? Do that. It worked. I'm happy to hear your cross border experience was so good. Omelet bites are gluten free as long as your daughter can tolerate a chance of cross contamination in a busy facility. You got this.

@@cmclaren7 Well ,thanks for your mean -spirited input that wasn't needed , wasn't welcome and which @Glenna Miles proved you completely wrong. Of course Nevaeh went to a Donut shop , b'cos she was with her FAMILY . She didn't complain, she was just noting the problem with anyone being "gluten free" at that particular shop. No need for you to be ungracious and ugly about it; only serves to highlight your lack of grace & mercy ; these are your failings, not hers or theirs as a family. Let me encourage you to do better and not expose your inadequacies on a public worldwide channel; that in particular expounds in sharing grace, love, and mercy to all. In other words, Lift your game to meet their high standards , you'll be amazed at how much more refreshing it is to offer goodness instead of ugliness. Selah. 🇦🇺🤗💞🙏✌️👏
