1. Giving elderly thin minis carrots like they were can send them into painful laminitis or colick. I see so many of these videos where it's obvious that the "rescuers" know nothing of proper husbandry for the animals. 2. In this video, the ground where they were doesn't look filthy. It looks like there is fresh poop which happens when you have a bunch of minis. They do, indeed, poop in their hay. Playing it up for the camera is sus. 3. Being on sand can be bad for them. They do need a dry lot, but with correct footing. Standing on grass wasn't making them sore, eating it was (the same way carrots will). Having them on sand can cause major hoof and digestive issues, and soft sand that is too deep is very painful for their joints. It can also get in eyes/nasal passages. 4. I don't know anything else about the situation, but knowing these things doesn't lend a lot of credibility to Asher House.

😂 those ponies didn't need rescuing, go to the auction houses and slaughter houses and compare the conditions on the animals... a real rescue like Aspca or whoever is in their area wouldn't touch them... their basic needs were being met, clean water and food, they weren't stood up to their knees in shit or mud their feet were not over grown they weren't underweight, nor overweight I don't give a shit what the vet says anyone who's been around horses can see plain and simple theres no urgent need to assist those animals, Lee said those animals were in their 20s and 30s ... no ponies who have been neglected make it to that good age, as for them now living on sand.. how is that fulfilling a horses needs ?? They can't forage, graze or really exercise because their living off hay that stays in one place... he says he can't put them on grass because they get ill and go lame... well if their getting laminitis under his care and the supervision of their vet then they need to pull their fingers out... get those ponies in grazing muzzles, put them on pain relief and anti inflammatory meds and get them in a paddock where they have to walk to get grazing , you don't keep them in a sand arena where out of boredom they start eating the sand develop vices etc and if hes keeping them in due to lamness you stable them with nice good bedding thats cleaned daily so theycan lay down and have a proper REM sleep... personally as someone who owned horses for 40 years I find how asher house is keeping them is cruel.. has he had their feet x rayed to ensure no peddle bones have rotated given that in his words he has to keep them on soft ground due to their bad feet... keeping them alive if they're in pain is cruel !!

We also had a 55 gallon tropical fish tank, 2 cockitiels w/hanging cages, 2 domestic rats. We decided after our last fur baby, Rags, went over the rainbow bridge that we couldn't keep carrying supplies up 28 steps, like litter and such, any longer. I couldn't handle water changes in my main tank. The cockitiels passed, one was egg bound and Peaches was just old. We'd still LOVE to have fur babies again but, it wouldn't be fair, to them! As we age we must become honest with ourselves that we cannot provide the care necessary for them and ourselves. So now? We take solice in our children's fur babies. Protecting these horses from their abusers is as critical, important and necessary as giving them the daily care they deserve. You made the right call, I cut off my horse’s former owner/abuser, she hated him and it would stress her unbelievably when he would visit. Her mental health is as important to me as is what type of feed she is on, her exercise, and her vet care. They don’t deserve to have to relive their trauma by these people’s mental illnesses.

I'm crying. Those old people have dementia. Lee, you are the best. Screw them. The horses are in the best place ever. They are going to thrive with you & your team. As if the woman knows what's best for them. If she did, they wouldn't have been in the shape they're in. Get a restraining order against the woman.
@susanhopkison3363Ай бұрын
You can't blame dementia on all old folks actions sometimes people are just plain nasty. I know this from personal experience. Dementia sometimes is used to cover up the bad side of human nature. 🏴

Oh my word, I remember this n several videos where you helped them and offered them to see them at any time. You have video evidence . You also have the vets evidence .Other than she has developed some form of dementia then she has no grounds whatsoever. I’m glad you have put this on line with your part but social media is very dangerous. You have saved so may lives n set up n maintained a pure animal paradise. Not everyone is like you n your team. You have sacrificed so much time n energy in rescue. Bless you n your team 👏👏🙏🙏🤞😍❣️

You have all of your paperwork and video documentation so you have done everything you needed to protect your sanctuary. You are also protecting your staff, excellent. I can see the condition they were in and are now in, so bravo sir. You keep on doing you.

Thank you Lee!! You are giving the elderly horses peaceful days in their last phase of life. THANK YOU. I was in a similar situation with CO pug rescue. They gave me permission to foster a pug. I drove 50 miles to get him. He came from a kill shelter in Roswell NM. My kids and I had him for 8 months I met with other families in other cities to get him adopted, no sucess. We were all attached and I asked the rescue if I could adopt him. The answer was always NO. No explanation. That was a red flag. I called animal control they said he's legally mine, don't give him back. I provided a letter from our therapist asking the rescue to let us keep him b/c my young kids are attached. CO pug rescue had me ARRESTED and the police took the dog. They told the police I was abusing him. Without providing any proof. The police said when they saw him clearly he's not abused and attached. Everyone was crying. I was 42 and that was my 1st ever and only arrest. CO pug rescue approved me to foster and then had me arrested for wanting to foster fail.
