Maria it is the same here in Scotland that the farmers are paid so little money for their food. Buying local grown is more expensive but it is important to help the local farmers. Lovely video and all the best to you during your time away at work.

They hate that we can grow our own nutritious food. They are going after rural America and saying our gardens cause climate change. It’s Ridiculous . They are poisoning Americans with processed foods.

In the US, these are called, County Fairs. A lot of fun to attend. I remember climbing on the big farming machines that are for sale. And the steam engines attracted the old men just like at your event.

This is happening in the UK also food is getting more expensive but also our meat portions are reduced by supermarkets as well as the price hike. I have friends in the farming community who are arguing with supermarkets and the cost they are getting for their meat. I am a wool dyer and fibre artist and buy from farmers and UK mills because our wool board barely covers the coatings of the sheep getting sheared approx 19 pence a kilo when it costs £12 to shear a animal. It’s outrageous

I like your videos, you are a beautiful woman who doesn't make more of you as a woman like many female youtubers do. No, I like real people who don't hide behind masks and make-up. Lucky is Bendik who is close to you every day. I'm like you, it's been a long time since I threw out the TV, I'd rather experience the real thing. I had heard about Dyrsku'n and now it is something I should experience. Just that I don't like that many people. I remember a New Year's Eve in Oslo many years ago, I have never felt so lonely as one in the middle of the great horde. In the middle of the forest or the mountains, I never feel lonely, and I am not one of those people who follow other paths, either in the mountains or in life. That's why my nickname on KZbin is, now Fosen. Have a nice trip to Northern Norway, it will be exciting to see where you are, smiling, but know where north, south, east and west are - hehe.

This is like our State Fair! We also have a tractor showing and a horse show! It goes from October 1st to the 14th where I'm from, Georgia, USA. I'm too old for the rides but I love the animals and food!

In the rural county where I live, we have the county fair in early July and then the farm show in August. Both of them just like the rural festival you are showing us. All across the Midwest USA there are also state level fairs...even bigger versions of the same sort.

We have county fairs here in the U.S. The winners of the different competitions move on to the state fairs.

Thank you for another lovely video Maria, and congratulations to you both on becoming car owners. I wish you many happy miles of safe motoring. The open air show you attended looks very much like what we would call a county show here, showcasing the best of local farming and craftsmanship. We have many of them throughout the country in the summer season, leading to some harvest themed shows in September and the early autumn. I'm pleased to see that the opening of the arts centre was such a success. Well done to all of you. You appear to have created a very special community there, and I wish you all much joy with it into the years ahead. It was nice to see your mother performing at the opening too. Your little cinema was very cleverly designed, and I agree that the curtains and blue light provided a very appropriate entrance. Hopefully you may have recruited some new followers among the 500 attendees. You're certainly having an intense period of activity this autumn, with preparing for the opening of the arts centre, and now embarking upon a two month tour as well, so I wish you both safe travels, and I look forward to seeing whatever imagery you can capture for us along the way.

Thank you Mark, the car really has become a long needed friend! It sounds very similar indeed! How wonderful that you have many of them. The one we went to here is the biggest one in the country, but we have a few more too :-). I am glad you liked my little cinema! it was fun to showcase my video in a different setting, I really liked it. Intense is the word for it, and I must confess I have been dreading this fall a bit during the summer. But I count myself lucky, living this very safe life and getting to embark on these adventures! Wow! So much in this video, Maria! Congratulations on the fabulously successful opening of Lifjell Kunst Senter! Even though you didn't do video of much of it, the small bits looked so warm and people seemed very engaged and happy! And you got a new car. And you are going back on tour. I really got a sense of you as a writer when you talked about planting a seed being like a letter to your future self. I do hope you get back to writing at some point - you have a great perspective on things, and I think you will be successful as a writer. I am so sorry to hear that farmers with small holdings in Norway are suffering the same fate as in other countries like here in Canada. Fortunately Farmers' Markets are getting more and more popular, and there are a lot of CSAs - "Community Supported Agriculture" - where individuals or families pay up front in the spring for a share of the crops during the growing season. The risks and rewards are shared by many people, that way. It helps the farmers get paid up front, and families get wonderful weekly baskets of fresh produce. I really would have expected better in a Scandinavian country! Things seem to be changing for the worse everywhere. I'm looking forward to seeing where you are going up north on your tour. I so enjoy seeing so much of Norway through your videos. Have a wonderful couple of months teaching and exploring! Ha det bra!
