I would love to hear more about what inspires you (and/or Bendeck!) with your art processes (I’m thinking of Bendeck’s paper cutting and your yarn, paper making etc) - as in, what artists, what nature, what moments. I’d love to just hear more about how you came to this, what keeps you inspired, etc! Also, would love to hear about how you use foraged food materials. The cabin looks so charming and cozy! I remember listening to my grandfather speak of skiing to school when he was young and living outside of Bergen. It is a beautiful city. Just got back from Hawaii where we met a lovely Hawaiian woman who drew wonderful pictures on handmade Mulberry tree paper. She said that she grew up sleeping under a blanket woven from mulberry tree fibers. Paper can be made of so many things.

It is just so beautiful seeing all the parts of Norway that you travelled to. For your Q&A - have you ever been to the school in Trofors to teach? I attended there for one semester in 1970! How wonderful that you got to stay in a sweet little hytte instead of a hotel. That was a great idea to ask. And nice that you have a week off. I look forward to seeing where you travel next. And I look forward to your Bergen trip. I went there for one day and night last time I was in Norway and would love to go back. I took the cable car up the mountain and wasn't sure I had enough time to walk down and still catch the one train back to Oslo. But the weather was absolutely spectacular that day. Very memorable. I had no intention of going, but when I was booking the train from Oslo to Trofors there was a banner ad for the train to Bergen that captured my eye, so I said "Why not?" I wish I had stayed longer! Do you reseed areas you remove the plants from are so far dose it rebound without doing that. We have had so many people viewing and picking are wild flowers that were depleted to a point reseeding and protection was called for. Referral is to seed plants I understand tuber or root if not damage benefit from the cutting.

That is so sad, and must be very frustrating. Over picking was a problem with one plant here too so in specific areas its not allowed to forage it anymore. Personally I have found that people with a lot of knowledge about foraging and plants tend to forage more sustainably and carefully than those just out picking what they know little about, so I believe teaching youngsters about value and uses of plants is impprtant to prevent depleating and over picking.
