Thanks for the review. Will any of the Rigid attachments work with the ego? I see you've got the orange Rigid hose with the small adapter on it. Rigid makes a soft bristle brush that I love for dashes and seats. Any way to get that to attach to the Ego?

I have the ego blower, landmower, and snow blower since 2018. Everything still runs well, worth the money. My friends went cheaper route and they now spent more than I did for replacements and still have issues every once in a while. Thanks for the review, I've been eyeing this vac for a while.

Great video and Happy Holidays, Pan. I think the features are amazing on this vac, but I personally can't justify the cost over an equally powerful Rigid that will last way longer. I've had my rigid for 7 years, every time I change the filter, it works like it's brand new again.

Great video Pan! I have the Ridgid and it works great. The Ego vacuum looks awesome and is super quiet, which is awesome, but over $600 is quite expensive for a vacuum and out of the realm of possibility for most people. Must say, the little light thing is a pretty cool idea. Not sure how much practical use it would be, but nice to see someone try something new. I’m guessing there’s a button cell battery in the remote, that will need replacement, at the most inconvenient time. What I would have liked to have seen would be for them to integrate the 320W charger into the unit itself. It’s already big, so adding a bit of size to add the charger wouldn’t make that much difference. You can still get the external rapid charger to use, or just use the vacuum, then plug it in to recharge so it’s ready for your next use.

The two extension tubes go underneath at the back there’s two slots for them and just above that there’s another clasp to hold the bigger nozzle head. Correction, the only thing they really didn’t provide for is the squeegee, but I put it gently into one of the extension tubes.

Thanks for the in-depth review. I've been deep into the EGO eco system for a while starting with the leaf blower, then slowly adding the string trimmer, chain saw, snow blower and most recently, their lawn mower. All are very well designed and a genuine pleasure to use. I only wish this shop vac had a rotating carpet brush as it would be great for all around house cleaning as well. By the way, it's interesting how much of their design was directly copied from the Festool shop vac. Even the same exact color scheme. But nothing beats going cordless and Ego has really developed a fabulous eco system. Can't wait to see what they come out with next!

@@Spirit2TT - I've had Ego tools (mower, blower, string trimmer, hedge cutter, and chainsaw) and batteries for about 6 years. Compliments of multiple tools, I have 3 batteries--each a different size. But I also have had a super positive experience with all my EGO products. Zero issues with all my three 5.0Ah batteries so far, and I always use the super charger. One thing I do is let the batteries cool down after each use, before recharging them. So far, no problems. And my EGO 650 CFM is my favourite of my three blowers (I also have the MetroVac Master Blaster Revolution and Bigboi BlowR Pro units). It just works. Great first look Pan. This machine sounds a lot like a Festool. I do feel like the battery brings a large 'convenience' factor to the package, along with the tool storage, but this kind of gets undermined by 9 gallon capacity. Makes sense for professionals but for DIY/home usage, this is much more capacity than one ever needs, I find footprint matters a lot in the space of convenience and ease of use. Other things to contemplate: 110CFM but what is the PA (cfm taking debris into the vacuum, PA is the power to pick it up from car carpets), how much does the CFM & PSI drops as the vacuum reaches fuller capacity, what is the diameter of the hose, are the attachments great for cars (does the brush scratch? if so you need other attachments, which would mean the storage means less and less), can it manage without using a bag (ultimate convenience). There's still very much a place for the Ridgid, I think a cheap, abusable, catch-all vacuum is absurdly useful for house, cars and life, something that you don't have to treat like royalty.
@PanTheOrganizer10 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Yeah my Ridgid is still a crazy good value for sure. The EGO has way cooler features but it’s to be expected at such a difference in price point. Now if Ridgid can come up with a compact cordless unit for detailing, that would be great!

This is really cool specially if you don't wanna go full blown mobile setup. To get a van set it up for Detailing getting a power generator to power corded power tools, for 500$ certainly pricey but well worth it if your doing more of a rinseless and cordless vacuum washes for apartments that don't have water nor electricity unless you can run 200' of cable to your customers room

FYI on Ego battery warranty. My experience is their batteries lose capacity at a rate that does not seem normal. If you make a warranty claim on their battery, it will be denied if the battery still charges even if it loses 50% of its capacity after 2 years (my experience).
@jameszemotel104711 ай бұрын
@joebal - I've had several Ego tools and batteries for about 5 or 6 years. I found my smallest battery seemed to be losing capacity last summer. I almost always use the turbo charger, but decided to charge it more slowly on a standard charger, and that seemed to have reconditioned the battery. We'll see what happens this coming summer when the yard work starts again....

I have had a great experience with my two 5.0aH batteries so far. And I use the turbo charger all the time. After use, I always let the batteries cool down, and then place them on the charger. A battery still allows me to fully dry my car or my girlfriend's SUV after each wash.

My two oldest Ego batteries are 2015 and I think they are not lasting as long but I'm actually not positive.....which is a major positive. I have 11 other Ego batteries and haven't had any issues but obviously anything can happen. Could it be a charger issue with your experience? The unit would bog down and waffle and required clean out of the hose with leaves, stuck and clean out of the filter very very often. in general, it didn’t have enough power and function well in this capacity. I did use it cleaning out my car and thought it was excellent. The remote is an outstanding feature. I thought it was very high-quality, but slightly heavy and bulky. Once they can get a lot more horsepower through this thing and a better filter I think I would be interested in its purchase.

@@PanTheOrganizer Australia, the Capital to be precise. I've watched a number of your videos and find them well presented and very informative. I live in an apartment that is within a block of townhouses. Have a smaller single car garage (not helped by shelving for storage down both sides) and almost no driveway so any car detailing has to be done more or less in the "street" which is not ideal as it restricts ingress and egress for residents on both sides.

Looking forward to adding this to my Ego collection! I wish they (and other manufacturers) would offer a way to route the exhaust up rather than just to the back or side. I feel like they’re always blowing things around that are on the floor in the garage. Something that connects to the blower attachment point (i.e., the vacuum exhaust) and routes the exhaust up and diffuses it would be awesome.
@imdeplorable224111 ай бұрын
I had a 30 gallon ShopVac that I bought a muffler for. It did cut the noise but, because of its design, it mounted horizontally and would only rotate 30° or so. Like you, I wanted it to shoot straight up. Good idea, bad execution.
@davidc-l917411 ай бұрын
@@imdeplorable2241 I have zero experience modeling anything 3-D or the like, but it seems like it would be something rather easy to accomplish if you have the know-how. You really just need the same connector that the hose uses, but instead of it connecting a hose it just connects the exhaust/diffuser we're talking about.
@PanTheOrganizer11 ай бұрын
The blower only works when you connect the hose to the air outlet hole. It doesn't operate when in vacuum mode. ;)

Happy New Year, Pan! A bit off topic. I would love to see videos covering your preferred products for different protocols. I have a Subaru Outback daily driver that lives outside that I pressure wash and I desire tougher durable products over gentle glossy products for, and I have my wife’s C8 Corvette that is garage-kept that I rinseless wash that I desire more gentle and deep/glossy products over durability for. Does this make sense? Keep up the great videos.

Don't waste your money on this. I love EGO products and own 4 various kits, but if you already have EGO batteries you can make your own cordless shop vac. Buy two 3D printed battery holders off the 'bay and mount them on a corded shop vac, wire in series, install two 5aH batteries, and connect to vacuum. You now have 112V available and all brushed AC vac motors will run on DC at full power. Boom! Saved you $300.

How i can a get That ? Any specific Websites ?
@sylkelster6 ай бұрын
@@alexispinero I bought two printed EGO battery adapters from seller allthethings3d on the 'bay for 24 ea. Wire them in series (black wire from one to red wire on the other). Connect the remaining red and black wires to a female cord-end available at home_depot to be able to plug the vacuum into it (or cut the vacuum plug off and wire direct). If the vacuum spins the wrong direction, reverse the polarity. The wires are 12 gauge so use appropriate connectors or solder/heatshrink. There are 6 screw mounting holes available on each battery holder. It's simple to do overall. The batteries need to be of equal capacity, of relatively equal age, and fully charged.

EGO missed the mark on this one, purely in price. I bought their 18" chainsaw for $350 because it came with a 5Amp battery. This vacuum isn't a good deal, be it bare tool or in kit form.
@CardosCarDose10 ай бұрын
It looks cool and handy with all of those quirky attachments included, however, that price tag is really steep for casual and even professional high volume use. 😬The batteries in my country are really expensive on their own ($200-300 in the USA) and having to get many on top of a fast charger (more money) to quickly charge them in a timely manner so I do not get interrupted with an empty battery seems like a massive investment for the minor convinience of it being cordless. 🤔Just ask any mobile detailer who have used battery vacs for dirty cars and they will tell you what a nightmare it is to wait around for it to charge or spend lots of money on just batteries alone. It is not a bad idea nor product I can see the potential of this being a great solution for us detailers, but the price tag for the unit, additional batteries, and fast charger needed to have a decent experience for real world usage is what makes this a difficult selling point. Just doing a bit of math you can get a "Obsessed Garage Vacuum Solution" with the only "cord" being the vacuum hose on the reel for almost the same price, yet more powerful and does not need charging. 🤣 Of course, Im using USD not sure how much it is in your location. Other than that great product impressions Pan, curious how the machine would last on top of the life spans of the batteries you will use with it. Keep up the work! 🏆

After a few hours of watching some videos by Rupes and The Rag Company, I'm going to go with Rupes for my next paint correction session. I'll be doing a 2 step this time. But i wanted to ask, do you think the 250ml bottles are enough product for a mid size sedan, or should i go with the 1000ml bottles?

If you are only doing one or two vehicles, a 250 ml is more than enough. 1L bottles are for larger volume shops. And the rest of the mini series will come later this month.
